HALO 4 - WHERE ARE MY MAPS I PAID FOR?

As we all know, those who bought season pass/ bulls eye map packs (or map packs in general) We NEVER get to play on any of the maps we paid for now. WHERE ARE THEY? I bought every single map, yet i never get to play on them, instead I am playing on garbage community forge maps and maps the game initially came with. Where is Crimson, Castle, Majectic, and Bullseye ??? When will it be added back into the game? ALSO… why did they take out the gametype Dominion? I loved that gametype. Second i personally feel they should make Oddball an official gametype. // If anyone has information on when we can play on our maps again… please let me know. GT: Its Pana

Your not alone, me and a ton of other people on waypoint have been talking about dlc. Hopefully, they’ll do something about it soon. The community obviously wants dlc

+1 here. I don’t see the point of sell DLC if the Matchmaking wont use it. 343 should make the DLC obligatory for all the list (except 1 o 2 for people who doesn’t bought it).

+1

I second that Raptor.

You need everyone in the lobby to get a DLC map in the voting. However, most people just don’t buy the map packs. If even one person doesn’t have the DLC everyone else has, it won’t show up. The main reason it seems that the dedicated DLC playlists were removed was because of the super-low population (Sometimes going into the lower double-digits) so it wasn’t viewed as being worth the space taken up, and because it was meant to free up space for the next DLC playlist.

Now, you’re probably going to have to wait until one of the playlists comes back as a rotational playlist. But just be aware, with the current population (15,000 max), you may not get a game on those playlists anyway. And as sad as it sounds, it is VERY RARE to get a full lobby of DLC owners in the normal playlists as it is due to the population and the fact that people don’t buy the map packs. Why? I don’t know.

Game has very significant population issues.
The fact that DLC doesn’t appear in matchmaking seems to indicate that most players don’t wish to purchase it (at least in the current paradigm).

Erecting barriers to entry by making an undesirable product mandatory when your game is already struggling just doesn’t seem business savvy…

Hypothetical Scenario: McDonald’s sales are flagging, but most people that still eat there skip the combo. They don’t want to pay for the fries and drink. The franchise decides to address the issue by eliminating the dollar menu and making everyone pay for combo. What do you think would be the response?

Of course this doesn’t address the people like me that would buy the DLC if they knew they would get to play it, but not getting to play it isn’t the reason most people quit buying it, as it used to be the established norm to get dlc maps. I have to think the people that are passing up on DLC that actually would like having to buy it are in the minority.

Can’t play DLC in an empty game either.

> We NEVER get to play on any of the maps we paid for now.

Oh come on now, you must know that’s untrue.

Unnecessarily difficult? Yes.
Impossible? No.

Yes.

343 experimented with making DLC required, and concluded that the strategy was unrealistic.

Remember that guys?

Well, leaving every other play list unlocked and letting people know before the test that it might be reverted could both be interpreted as things that would skew any results you get.

It was a pretty feeble attempt at testing it imo. When you test using half measures, you will only get half results. Granted, they may have decided the risk of a more comprehensive test was too great and can certainly interpret the results with that in mind.

But yeah, mandatory DLC is something that needs to be either implemented from the get go when you still have a healthy population or ignored all together.

Implementing it after the fact obviously isn’t viable.

Seems like a couple “DLC Specific” Lobbies could be implemented.

DLC RUMBLE (10 players, FFA)
DLC Slayer (4v4)
DLC Big Team Slayer (8v8)
DLC OBJECTIVE (6v6)

True for me thus far. Not expecting it to change.

I learned not to buy DLC after 343 took away most Reach DLC playlists 3 months before Halo 4 came out. It’s their own fault for poor sales.

There is no easy way to say this is unfair, unexpected, and just not fair. I feel SOOOOOO cheated, ripped off and, screwed. As if I wasn’t getting enough from my job and the Feds to. …disappointing.

I support a DLC playlist, but I don’t think there’s enough to support 4 independent playlists.

I’d just have DLC Battle Royale: A 6v6 mix of objective (KoTH and Dominion only) and Slayer.

For objective I say KoTH and Dominion only as it’s a nice transition from Slayer and these game types offer an objective style while keeping everyone moving as they would in Slayer.

Now you see why downloadable maps should always, always, ALWAYS be free. Splits the community and the people who paid money always get screwed.

> Now you see why downloadable maps should always, always, ALWAYS be free. Splits the community and the people who paid money always get screwed.

Exactly. If they aren’t free from the start or at least free after a couple months(2) you will rarely play these maps in Matchmaking. You are pretty much paying for maps to be played only in custom games

take a stand everyone, this is needed!

This is why I will never buy matchmaking DLC.
I am just glad the DLC playlist was removed AFTER I picked up Reach so I didn’t waste my money on DLC thinking I could get to play it.

I thought I lost My Crimson map pack, but found out latter that it was just a limited time offer from 343.
