Halo 4: What do you want from halo 4?

No, I do not hate Reach, nor do I love Halo 3. I still play Reach, and although Halo 3 was amazing, it doesn’t really compare with today’s games. I hope 343 can please us- wait, no, I KNOW 343 can please us :slight_smile:

What do you want from Halo 4?

EDIT: I see a bunch of flaming down there, but I really don’t know why. If you don’t like it, then what’s the deal? It’s my opinion. But whatever, here, I’ll fix it; this is what I want:

-Unique maps that don’t resemble specific parts from Campaign would be most preferred. I’d like to believe that players want to see something different in every game mode, and not the same thing all the time
-Armour you can unlock via Achievements, as well as armour that can be purchased from the Armory. This way, both the competitive and casual crowds can be happy
-Mostly everyone agrees with the “No AAs” part, right?
-More dynamic Challenges. Instead of recycling the same challenges from a list, they need to spice it up: putting up at least one new challenge (that we haven’t seen before) each day would be a good start.

Tho yes I agree with everything here, but the armor thought achievements. Its just not possible to unlock armor with the dramatic upgrade we got in Reach and who knows how big it could possibly be in Halo 4(if we have one). Its just not feasible.

Also you might want to replace the we with I. Not everyone is up for those ideas.

What halo needs is

  • a better forge world. ( world with deiffernet terrians, not just rocky and green like reach’s maybe some deserts, ruins,forest, cities, forts and bases, underground facilities, and nyan cats: basically a wide variety of enviroments all in one huge map)
  • equipment ( found in the map, radar jammers, flashes, smoke grenades, EMP’s disable vehicles and stationary equipment, motion alarms * screech when an enemy approches*, kinectic barriers pushes away objects from point of placemnt, Rebecca black friday discs for toture ETC:)
  • 1=1 ( basically everyone spawns with the same class as anyone else everytime, so no more classes )
  • plenty of choices in map ( after spwaning plenty of non-power weapons and equipment availible in large amounts so everyone can be unique in a tacticall way but not combat )
  • scarce power weapons (power weapons spawn less frequentlly and arent high in numbers, but still keep them strong and give an advantage to keep them worth something)
  • enemy, objective marking ( so u can get help when fighting a hard enemy or found an objective and wish to call in re-inforcements)
    P.S: basically make the maps more unique, but still fair (one side is very similarr to the other) and everyone is equal at first and have plenty of tacticall choices at their spawn pints to keep things intresing, and a way to get help, or point out important things, or warn things to teammates

You lost all credibility on your first point. The maps were not ripped from the campaign, they were designed as multiplayer maps and then inserted. Asides from the fact Bungie stated and explained this multiple times… what? Did you honestly think the campaign just happened to contain a perfect remake of Ivory Tower?

I disagree with most of your ideas. Especially the WE part.
What Halo 4 needs is a fine balance of new and old. I will welcome any change 343 gives out as long as it’s balanced. AA’s in Reach were horribly unbalanced and if the game just had sprint it would have been a bit more to the classic feel, but at the same time it would have been dull.

Halo 4 needs to be Halo 4, not 3.5

Little or no penalty for team killing (cause I do that sometimes)

The ability to ride armored dinosaurs.

I agree with you no Armor Lock it’s a time out button for pansies

So should the OP personally message each and every member of the community with the question “What do you want in Halo 4” in order to make a thread with some general suggestions about what he feels a lot of people would appreciate? No, because that’s -Yoinking!- moronic and demeaning to human intelligence, in any case.

Regardless of the degree of accuracy, a generalization does have some value to it because it’s author is a biological super-computer (ie. a human being) like you or I. It can reason, it can approximate, and while it might not have enough data to guess with perfect accuracy what you individually are interested it it may yet plum the currents of the Halo community to offer a suggestion or two which would be in our best interests (see no pace breaking AA’s.)

So -Yoink- off. If someone wants to pull -Yoink- out of their -Yoink- then so be it. You certainly are not fit to judge it’s objective validity by the very same token that the OP isn’t fit to judge the absolute truth regarding what’s best for Halo. You may disagree, certainly, but let’s leave the obvious clarifications be since they certainly do not add to discussion.

Anyway, enough of the whining, balancing new and old together, in my opinion, is not enough for Halo 4. Halo has been loosing a lot of momentum, recently, so the value of the classics is probably at a nill at this point. Meaning, that any retro or nostalgic twist of gameplay, or even just something that tries to revive one of the better parts of an older game, is not going to have the same power as something more innovative and new. That isn’t quite to say that Halo 4 should be an entirely different game, but it’s differences should far outweigh it’s similarities with Halo 1, 2 3, ODST, or Reach if it’s going to have a chance at hitting it big.

Okay, don’t you guys think you were a little bit too harsh in dealing with my ideas and opinions? I fixed it up, but I don’t think I’ll get what you guys want, since most of you are being crybabies. Enjoy, and give me more ideas :slight_smile:

-Updated forge that lets u use in game bgm or upload some of of an mp3 player or computer.
-Da Flood
-play as Flood in multiplayer
-Play as Brutes
-Play as "What ever the new enemies are
-Awesome Campaign
-Play as Xbox Avatar in Multiplayer … I’m dead serious about this!
-Awesome Graphics, I think that Halo 3 ODST had the Better Graphics than Reach.
-Forerunners
-The Halo Theme

What i think would be pretty cool is a human melee weapon…like the katana from 3 but wield-able.

Also the same armory that Reach has but with even more armor.

A good storyline and campaign.

A playlist with Halo CE settings, so I don’t have to deal with whatever shenanigans that will most likely be in Halo 4.

I think it would be an interesting touch if EMP blasts (armor lock running out, plasma pistol overcharge, hold down fire button grenade launcher) would cause visual distortion for the HUD for a second or two, and maybe the computerized stuff on the guns themselves (the display on the sniper rifle’s scope, AR and BR ammo counts) would scramble for a couple seconds. Just a more immersive addition thatwouldn’t really affect gameplay too much. The guns are a mechanism so wouldn’t be affected by an EMP.

I just want more Ranked Playlist with a actual Good Ranking system …

New MM and a new Netcode to help with lag…

New maps I really happy about most of what halo 4 is going to have …

But only time will tell …

How it all plays out…

I want more halo in my halo not just the br. One weapon does not make a game. What about the other cool weapons, vehicles and features like the silenced weapons from odst as a example. Not to flame but I’d have to disagree that no one wants AA’s. If this were true why is there such a low amount of players in the playlist with few to no AA’s.
