Halo 4 weapons and vehicles discussion thread

So I am making this thread because there has been a lot of threads being made about halo4 weapon ideas. Closer to the release of Halo 4 more of these threads will be made. There might come apoint in which there is 15 of these types of threads. I rather have all of these threads in one instead of having nine to ten of them. So with that said feel free to post your idea of a gun or vehicle to see what the community thinks of your idea.

I want to see the FRG return but more like the Halo PC version.Gravity hammer and the Sparten Laser I want to see return as well.

There is a chance that theres will be no covanent in halo 4 but what was different about the FRG pc version and the regular H3 version. I never played pc version.

I want the cyclops from halo wars to return. Except I want it to have a chain gun.

W T F the gravity grenade was my idea

1. Assault Rifle Explosive Tip

  • Highly effective against light weight vehicles
  • Can kill a player 33% faster.
    - Lower clips and ammo
    - Same range as a default Assault Rifle

2. Mine

  • Placable Mines
  • Instant kill on touch
  • Explosion Radius of 3 meters around
  • Effective against any type of Vehicles
  • Will explode if shot
  • You can pick it back up if places in a bad spot

3. Spike Sniper

  • Shoots spikes instead of Bullets
  • On hit; health bleeds until the loss of 2 bars

4. Blind Grenade

  • Blinds targets for 3-5 seconds

5. E.M.P Rocket

  • Shuts down vehicles temporarily and partially damages them
  • Reload each shot

6. Sniper Explosive Tip

  • Explosive bullets
  • If someone is really near their team mate that got shot, they can get damage to their shield
  • Effective against light vehicles
  • 2 hit to kill, but any teamates nearby will be hurt by the explosives

That is all I got for now, I will update this list every time I get ideas.

It would be great to finally control some Halo Wars vehicles, like the Wolverine and the Cobra. IF the Forerunners appears in Halo 4, I would like to see (and be able to use) some Forrerunner weapons aside from the Sentinel Laser.

So far almost all of these ideas I’d hate to see in Halo 4.

It had a noticable arc and was like a motar weapon.Was the strongest version and the shots traveled the fastest.

Don’t know if someone has brought this up before but I’d like to see an EMP grenade. On big team maps at least

Some of my ideas:

Chupacabra (ultimate teamwork vehicle):
A vehicle created using technology from the Power Drainer. The driver can use a beam to drain energy from a targeted vehicle or player. The beam cannot kill the player, but will bring down his/her shields. The beam can destroy vehicles after all the energy has been drained. The energy will fuel up to two turrets on the vehicle. The turret can shoot out a charged pulse of energy. The amount of energy gained after a power drain depends on what it drained. For example, a tank will give it 50 charge, a medium sized vehicle will give it 30, a light vehicle will give it 20 and a player’s shields will give it 10. The maximum amount the vehicle can hold is 200 charge. The turret can cause mass amounts of damage depending on the charged time. It can also switch to a different version that acts sort of like a Gauss turret, but still uses energy. Using 100 charge, the driver can activate a energy field that drains the shields and health of nearby players, including the ones in the vehicle, and also give the vehicle invincibility for 15 seconds. This will be used mostly as a last resort, because after the 15 seconds are up, the vehicle will be rendered useless, and the players inside the vehicle and the ones nearby will die.

Horsefly (Flood carrier):
A part-organic, part-mechanical vehicle/creature that carries Flood forms around in a compartment in it’s legs. They can be released, and will infect sentient beings that come in contact with them.

Gazelle (courier vehicle):
Created using Covenant and UNSC technology, it is similar to a Mongoose, but can travel faster, and has a boost mechanism.

Stag Beetle (armoured vehicle):
This vehicle has a horn or pincer on the front, and can be used as a battering ram, or to slice the enemy in half.

Leech:
An organic creature that can latch on to players and drain their health slowly. The only way to remove it is to have another player shoot the Leech a couple of times. Thrown as a grenade.

Leviathan:
A huge vehicle that acts as a vehicle bay, and a submarine.

Dingonek:
A vehicle that is used to travel through jungles, swamps and lakes. Equipped with tusks for towing.

Yeti:
A vehicle that can travel through the harshest environments.

Megalodon:
A submarine equipped with torpedoes.

Mokele-mbembe:
A vehicle used for combat near lakes and in jungles.

Roc:
A combat aircraft equipped with talons for grabbing hold of enemy vehicles and dropping them from high in the sky.

Chimaera:
A multi-use vehicle. Can be used in combat, or as transport.

Thunderbird:
A variant of the Roc, armed with a mini-MAC cannon.

Wendigo:
A device that can be planted on vehicles. This will let the player who placed it take control of the vehicle, until the effects wear off, or until removed by another player.

Ya-te-veo:
A stationary machine that drains the shields and health of an enemy by entangling them with long tentacle-like wires.

If there should be any Covenant (like some garrison groups that somehow don’t know the war is over), I want Master Chief to be able to pick up Jackal shields after he kills them. He would only be able to use one-handed weapons while it’s activated (any dual-wield weapon).

For vehicles, I’d like to see MC get the chance to pilot some kind of dropship, or even any Forerunner vehicles that he may encounter. As far as those go, I have really no idea what there might be.

Forerunner Pulse Blaster - A hand-held, geometric rifle-like gun with 2x zoom. Pulling the trigger will fire a bolt of light similar in strength to a DMR shot. Firing too much in succession will make it overheat and decrease its accuracy. Holding the trigger will charge the gun, then releasing the trigger will fire a high power bolt of energy similar to a Beam Rifle. This bolt can insta-kill with a headshot, and take off shields and damage the enemy some if it’s a body shot. This bolt will cause the rifle to overheat.

Forerunner Explosive Gun - This gun will be similar to a Spartan Laser. Holding the trigger will initiate a tracking beam similar to the SL or Target Locator. Holding it on a target for a minimum amount of time, (3 seconds or so), will cause an explosion on that target. The target can be animate or inanimate, but the beam must be placed on it for the minimum amount of time. No projectile is actually fired, the target is simply engulfed in an instant explosion, making it ideal for taking out snipers and other stationary targets. This gun has a 2x zoom.

I like those ideas

Just some grenade ideas
1.Emp Grenade- Has a radius slightly larger than the halo reach frag and emps targets.
2. Stun grenade- has a small aoe and damage, for 2 seconds the target has the same attributes as of a person who just got hijacked. Great for when you have the element of surprise.
3. Needle grenade- when detonated causes a supercombine explosion dealing little damage to shielded targets but killing unshielded ones. Great in combination with EMP grenade.
4. Blast grenade- does little damage but has much launching power, roughly 1-3 of that of a concussion rifle or brute shot. Great for holding off an opponent until your shields can recharge or launching an opponent off the map.

I think the stun grenade should work by temporarily giving anyone caught in its radius the “Blind” skull effect–they lose all HUD elements (weapon included) for a time, depending on how close they were to the blast. The needle grenade is also a great idea; maybe it can put out a burst of the same homing projectiles as in the needler? Then it can work equally well against shielded or unshielded targets.

I hope they’re gonna use a whole new engine for halo 4!!!

I don’t see why they wouldn’t, they’re starting from scratch on this one. I think we can expect great things from 343i.
