Halo 4 Weapons & Abilites Concepts

here is a list of My weapon and Ability concept ideas for halo 4


Weapon Concept : The Assailer

-This is a Covenant weapon that fires a flat beam out to great distances.

-It fires in bursts like a slower covenant carbine and it is like a mix between a Wookie Bowcaster and a shotgun that fires long range on a flat trajectory and along a thin plane.

-The weapon can hit multiple targets that are lined up within 4-8 feet or so along the plane( axis ) of fire

  • It does not fire multiple shells but rather a single slicing beam that can be fired repeatedly and slower than a battle rifle or Carbine.

  • The longer you charge it for the more powerful it becomes( there is a power limit that only increases damage by 15% max ).

  • The longer you charge it the narrower the Beam gets

  • The longer you charge it the lower the maximum effective range is


Weapon Concept: The Candessar

In a nutshell this is basically a “long range area affect EMP flamethrower.”

Awesome ? right ?

-If you have people camping in a room and need to deal with it this is the gun to have.

-It has a radius of about 10-15 feet with the “damage” dropping the farther you go from the epicenter were the weapon is pointed at.

  • This weapon only damages shields and drops them down to 0% after a duration of 3-5 seconds in the target area.

  • This is a power weapon

  • If It is aimed at a specific target dead on it will drop that targets shields in 2 seconds

this is the ultimate Anti Camper weapon.

  • It is also able to slow down a vehicle for a short duration ( but not stop it )

Armor Ability Concept: Durandaal EVA Override System.

This replaces the jet pack. There is no jet pack in Halo 4.

Here is how it works. It is like a small jet pack attached to your shoulders as seen in the armor Screenshots of the Spartan 4’s. It can only be used once and only once before it has to be recharged through the compression of gasses in the environment. It takes approximately 47 seconds for the system to recharge ( fill up with gasses sufficient for a quick jump ) making it essentially a one time use item for quick escapes in an emergency.

  • The use of this ability is actually ad hoc. the system is designed for small bursts of travel in 0 G environments. Using it to make a quick Jump or boost is only increasing your jump height by a few feet or by making you go farther when using “man cannon” type device as you are overriding the EVA system to expel all the gases in one burst.

  • The use of this ability damages your own shields to halfway and also damages the shields of anyone standing behind you.

  • It could be used for quick escapes or to cause a sticky grenade to be knocked away from hitting you if timed right.


Ability Concept #2: Jackal Shield

-This is the Freakin Jackal Shield that you have always wanted to use.

-It is Equippable as a starting “Power Ability”

  • There is a delay switching to it and it takes the places of your Grenades

  • It will only last as long as a normal jackal shield

  • The time Delay of pulling it out and activating it is similar to how you activate the energy sword.

  • This Item could also be limited to being a “Power item” on the map ( instead of an armor ability ) to avoid those possibility of everyone running around with one at the same time.


Ability Concept: Thickskull

Read the whole description of this ability before you decide to criticize it

  • Your Spartan is wearing Extra Thick armor allowing him to absorb 25% more damage than a normal Spartan could

  • He ALSO walks 25% slower.

  • He also has a very slightly larger Hit box.

  • This armor is removable in game and can be placed on the ground for another player to pick up and use. IN order to apply the armor you are vulnerable in the 5 seconds it takes to snap on the helmet attachment and vest.

  • There is a Chest Plate that is unlocked first.

  • A FacePlate that is unlocked later.

  • Even farther down the road there is a Plate for your back. There is no extra arm armor or leg protection period.

  • When in a vehicle it moves 5% slower due to the added weight.

  • The FacePlate lets you survive Headshots but your Visiblity is moderately reduced to to the smaller Viewport and lower FOV and the increased thickness of the Corning Brute glass 7 used in its construction.

  • IF you are struck from a sniper round in the head with the Extra Helmet armor you will survive at the cost of the helmet armor being damaged. When it is damaged the glass becomes visually cracked and broken and you must use a button to manually remove it. Being hit with the sniper round also drops your shields to half at this point.

  • The chest Plate and Helmet armor will reduce the ammount of damage taken by a weapon by 25% except for certain weapons like the beam Rifle or Sniper Rifle or other similar power weapons.

  • This armor will be a limited substitute for the health bar and can be a Power weapon pick up on some maps in custom games. In fact you would see a bar below you shields ( The armor bar ) indicating how much more punishment it can take.


Armor Ability: Flag Sheath

Allows you to strap the Flag to your chest plate instead of holding it in your hands. this allows you to use a weapon.

  • You will drop your secondary weapon automatically when picking up the flag and using the flag armor attachment point.

  • You can move 10% faster with the flag when this is equipped.

I like your first covenant weapon, it seems pretty interesting and something I’d like to use :slight_smile:

I also kinda like the idea of the flag sheath, however I dont really think the extra armor idea would work so well. Perhaps it could make some custom games interesting (infection anyone?) but it would just be a hassle in matchmaking and just another thing for people to complain about :stuck_out_tongue:

I understand. The armor thing would be controversial as far as gameplay changes go.

Perhaps it would be better served as more of the humans answer to the Overshield ?

Aka A power-up on the map that is equipped.
