Halo 4 weapon review 1: Assault Rifle

Notice: This review has my own personal opinion’s and thoughts, I am no expert with halo weapon lore I am simply doing a down to earth review, but I hope I do not offend anyone, and that you enjoy reading. And I hope you don’t mind my bad grammar.

The Assault Rifle ( or the The MA5D Individual Combat Weapon System ) Is the standard weapon used by the UNSC during Halo 4’s story.

Design.
The Assault rifle sports a very well know design to any and all halo players dating back to the days of Halo: CE so it was easy to get use to the weapon during campaign and online multiplayer, In fact the design closely resembles the halo 3 rifle ( Which is understandable considering it was the chiefs weapon during the escape on the arc )

Sound.
This brand of Assault rifle makes a very nice sound I feel, It sound’s and feel’s like it can pack a major punch in comparison to the halo 3 assault rifle, It’s also worth noting I sometimes equip the AR in my loadout just to hear the noise alone.

Features.
The only feature I think is worth noting is the usual ammo counter in the current clip and compass which is built into a small screen on the rifle, carrying on the tradition like past Assault rifles.

Skins.
Like every other weapon in Halo 4, the assault rifle has a choice of skin’s to obtain either through a specialization, A pre order bonus and in the upcoming championship bundle DLC, Here are a list of skins currently available/upcoming

Prime: Obtained by getting the limited edition
Predator: By leveling up the Pathfinder
Riptide: By getting the series 2 master chief figure
Turbine: By getting the steel weapon skin pack
Trauma and Teeth: Obtained in the upcoming championship bundle

Gameplay
I find the Assault rifle to be a go to and reliable main or backup weapon, It sports good accuracy at short to medium range, to hit a target at long range would need either good enough burst fire or good luck. It carries enough spare ammo for you to be in the fight long enough ( and that’s without the ammon perk thing ) and it always dealt enough damage even before the weapon tuning. I would recommend this weapon for small and medium maps such as Haven or complex.

Personal rating
I would give the Assault rifle a 8/10 It is very reliable but lacks the stopping power at long range.

If you liked this review then please leave a thanks, soo yeah thanks for reading

ehhh, coulda focused a bit more on gameplay, you went to far into its cosmetic details

Other then that, not bad

Nice review but you shouldn’t use the AR on complex.

I have often used the AR on complex and found it very reliable.

Yeah sorry about that. I just like to do that sorta thing. Hopefully the Battle rifle review will be a lot more informative.

Still thanks.

I used it today as secondary weapon on complex ( DMR primary weapon) and i think that it is useful inside the bases.
But i would never use it as a primary weapon because most players use DMRs and lightrifles.
