Halo 4 Weapon Potential

Hello! I’m slightly concerned about the weapon potential of the weapons in Halo 4.

What I mean by weapon potential is difficult for me to explain. The issue that I’m worried about is that many default weapons can only get a player 1-2 kills at most.

For example, if one looks at the BR, it takes 5 shots to kill a player. The magazine only has the ability to pull of 12 shots. This means that the BR will only allow a player to achieve a maximum of 2 kills per magazine.

I’m concerned about the weapon potential because I believe it decreases the skill gap between skilled players and average players. Both a skilled and an average player will achieve a max of 1-2 kills per magazine with many weapons.

In Halo Reach, the DMR was a 5 shot kill and it had 15 bullets. This means that a player could potentially obtain 3 kills per magazine. Skilled players are more likely to achieve that, but an average player would normally obtain 1-2 kills per mag.

I was wondering if this should be something that 343 Industries should look into. I’m slightly confused on why there is a decrease in weapon potential in Halo 4. Do any of you players believe this is something to be addressed? Why or why not?

It takes half a second to reload if you use the right load out. It’s not really that much of a big deal

This is assuming NO nade use or teamfire.

1 nade + 1 headshot = 1 kill. With scav or grenadier and radar its very easy to place nades well.

You can easily pull a few kills off of one clip, even in FFA.
