Halo 4 waypoint unlocks

I was looking through the halo 4 page on the xbox website and I came across this…

So I’m guessing this is a confirmation that there will be armor unlocks through waypoint in halo 4?

I don’t know why they wouldn’t, the Military Police and CQB helmets gave people an inspiration to go back and replay other games for achievements

It’s saying some armor is unlocked at rank, then some by a doing something in game (like beating it on legendary). Then like you say, it says some from waypoint.

Yeah, they’ll have waypoint unlocks again. I really need to finish up the Anniversary map pack achievements in Reach and the final one for Halo Wars.

Well, yeah. I don’t see why they wouldn’t.

I’m quite happy about this! I absolutely loved the idea of Waypoint-unlocked armour in Halo Reach, though there wasn’t much we got from it. Hopefully we have at least double the amount this time around!

Exactly!!!

Yeah I’m pretty excited about this too! I agree, hopefully there are a lot more unlocks than compared to reach.

I’m glad to see an consensus on more waypoint unlocks. I thought the concept was a great idea, but two helmets and a chest plate? come on, i’ve never been much of a lootwhore but that’s pitiful. There were so many cool armor bits from H3 that could have been brought over. I’m hoping that most of the new stuff is shipped with the game, with a mix of new armor and popular old stuff being unlocked through commendations. I’d really like to see a “points” system implemented for waypoint. Like your achievements earn you points to spend on armor. “swap meet” would only be worth 1pt, but “monument to your sins” 15pt. Then there’s this massive catalogue of armor you can pick from. It would be impossible to get everything, but very easy to get your favorites. That way If you loved Gungnir but thought Hayabusa was dumb, you didn’t even have to bother with unlocking it. What do you guys think about my idea?

I know I don’t have ALL of the achievements in the Halo games (100% in ODST XD), but I have a great deal of them!
Halo Wars -3

Reach -5

HaloCEA -4

Halo3 -7

I have almost no halo wars achievements, but I have almost all of them for the rest of the games.

I want them to increase the milestones and I want them to like, halo 3 full achievements = mark V? Armour, halo Reach full achievements mark V armour, halo 3: ODST, urban ODST urban camo skin. Halo CEA, mark V armour, and the prize… Halo wars, mark IV armour.

Yeah that would be cool if they did something along the lines of that. I have a feeling that they’re gonna go by specific achievements and/or milestones.

I hope they don’t require achievements from CEA or Halo Wars. I don’t have those and probably won’t buy them.

CEA is a GREAT game! Halo Wars is a good RTS, if you’re into that kind of thing. Starcraft Halo! Just not nearly as intense.

I hope that they put Milestone rewards into Halo 4. Not because I’m at milestone 75, but because it rewards people for playing the series. People that haven’t played the past games now have incentive to play and beat the past games. Not only that but they now are immersed in the story to how the Chief got the Requiem.

Yeah I would also recommend CEA. It’s great remake and relatively easy to get all the achievements. Not to mention, you also get the anniversary maps for reach. As for Halo Wars, I know it’s not for everyone but I suggest giving it a try.

I’m glad to here this. The concept of Waypoint unlocks is a god one, but I felt Reach failed to capitalize on it (probably because 343i wasn’t in control from the start). Also, I don’t think all of the Halo Wars achievements should count. I have all of the FPS Halo achievements, and all but two of the Halo Wars achievements (the General achievement is ridiculous).

If i recall there was a total of three. (two helmets and a chest piece or two.) And each had three attachments. So thats like 7-9 unlocks. The thing about halo 4 though is that there arent any attachments, to my knowledge, so we may have less, but theyll each be made.from the ground up, so thats a good thing.

Yeah there were three base pieces to unlock and the two helmets had additional attachments. I just hope that there are more things to unlock overall. I wonder if the unlocks will be strictly armor pieces…maybe there will be weapon/armor skins or even an armor effect?

Finding this a great incentive simply to go back and re-play the other games over the next few months, simply to complete some of the achievements. Hopefully more details on Waypoint unlocks are released shortly.
