Halo 4 Warthog Comparison

The warthog is never the same from game to game, as it has varied in size, bounciness, chaingun ammo strength, side passenger usefulness, rate of fire, and chaingun ammo spread. What’s your favorite warthog in all of the halo series? What would your perfect warthog be like, and how do you think the new warthog in Halo 4 does/will compare with previous warthogs? Thoughts appreciated!

I like how fast the new Warthog seems to go now. I wish it were more bouncy, but that’s just me though, because I love crazy jumps and bounces. I wish whoever sits in the side passenger seat gets a boost in their weapon like the flag carrier and his flagnum, because there more useless than a bag of lemons.

Size has remained the same.

Has it? Seemed to me it changed; interesting if it hasn’t. Thanks~

It seems to have more ‘weight’ than the Reach Warthog, which I’m grateful for.
The Reach Warthogs flipped while turning even over the smallest hill…and then there was the physics impact of DMR/AR shots (My God!).

Hopefully it’s grippy in Halo 4, but not so much that it completely loses it’s characteristic power-slides.

Also hoping the Gauss-hog turret doesn’t have ‘magnetism’ that the Reach version did, which made it super easy to get long distance infantry kills with it from miles away.

My favorite would have to be the 'Hog in CE. As challenging as it was, it remains the best variant in my opinion. Below I state why.

  1. The passenger viewed things in first person with the cool effect of being on a bumpy ride.
  2. It felt weighty and awesome!
  3. It’s chaingun was perfect in my eyes.

Yeah I couldn’t believe how bouncy it was in Reach. But I liked that the vehicles finally had health of their own. That way, as long as they didn’t shoot you directly, you could easily get out and start fighting with complete health or near-to.

Yeah, hopefully we don’t go back to player health being affected by the wheels being shot. Ahh, good ol’ Halo CE and the indestructible vehicles.

It just always seemed ridiculous to me that we could get hurt when the bullets were hitting nowhere near our bodies. I’ve heard some complaints about the reach vehicles being “paperthin” but I really don’t know where that’s coming from. I thought the vehicles had appropriate health; certainly they are more than the spartans themselves could absorb if shot.

Always love driving a hog. Thou it kinda looks like a puma to me.

The halo 4 one looks nice and the engine sound is real nice. It seems they’ve beefed up the chainguns making them do more damage and more accurate. Combined with Wheelman for the driver and Gunner for well the gunner it should be a force on the battlefield. Provided the two can drive and shoot well…

I like this warthog
