I think halo 4 campaign was better but what do you guys think? (Not saying halo 3 was bad halo 3 was great)
Halo 3/ Nuff said
the lack of Hornet made H4’s Campaign worse IMO
everything about Halo 4’s is epicness, including the usable pelican, but i like combat aircraft better, so i desire a Hornet

Don’t forget the broadsword
Halo 3s campaign was alright, but god dang, halo 4s campaign is so -Yoinking!- good. I felt like I was watching an amazing movie the whole time. Emotion, rush, mystery, epic ness. I literally felt goosebumps more then half of the campaign.
I’m not going to say “oh my god, there was barely any air craft, that makes halo 4s campaign so much weaker.”
I’m being completely honest, the halo 4 campaign was SO. MUCH. BETTER.

by combat aircraft, i mean Attack “Helicopters”, not Fighter-Interceptors

oh ok
Halo 3 was good, but alot of stuff annoyed me about it. Much too easy overall, Brutes were cheap as Elite replacements, the “bosses” were pathetic (I’d take the Didact quick-time over the Spark fight any day), much too short, Flood were not enjoyable to fight at all, and some of the story stuff was meh.
The only things I could say could have been done better in Halo 4 is more enemy variety and tweaks to varient/rank differences (stronger Prometheans turrets, more difficult high-rank Elites, etc.) and more “distinct” levels (space flight, Pelicans). But there was much more emotional depth than any Halo before it and made them look rather simplistic and basic in comparison.
Halo 4 for me
I’d pick Halo 3’s campaign, fighting the Covenant and Flood is a lot more fun than fighting those Prometheans IMO.
Halo 3’s campaign felt rushed and like it was riding on Halo 2’s campaign to make it worthwhile, to be honest. In fact, the first few levels of Halo 3 were things that were intended to be in Halo 2.
I personally can’t say I understand the praise for Halo 3’s campaign yet the condemnation for Halo 4’s. Halo 3’s campaign is shorter, handed out character deaths like free samples without giving us time to really get over the last death, and really cheated us of properly confronting the Gravemind- though I suppose that parallel can be drawn to the Didact.
My only argument therein is that this is the first game of a new trilogy, so if the Didact or even just the Bornstellar-Didact are to return, we shouldn’t have to be engaging them in an epic fight in the first game. HOWEVER, the Gravemind was built up over Halo 2 and constantly teased us and kept us aware of his presencei n 3, yet we NEVER encounter him beyond his tentacles.
Perhaps the two places Halo 3 shined most were the enemy encounters (such as the unforgettable double-scarab drop) and the ending, which was very symbolic of the trilogy as a whole.
On the other hand, Halo 4 boasts the potential of a new story that is exciting all the way through, paces itself fairly well (I’m sorry, but only TWO levels on the Ark? Really!?), and that it isn’t meant to be the concluding piece yet ends in such a way that the player feels somewhat concluded. It really feels like if they just chose to stop there, they could, but at the same time you know deep down that it’s just a massive cliffhanger unto itself because of what looms on the horizon of what is already known.
All in all, I thought both games were neat, but Halo 4’s campaign was superior. As far as gameplay, they kind of meet in a middleground: Halo 3 was embarrasingly easy and fast, but had great and memorable encounters. Halo 4 was harder but suffered from a bit more repetition, but also provided some great and memorable encounters. (Years from now, I bet we’ll all be playing Infinity JUST for the Mantis section.)

I’d agree if it weren’t Halo 3’s versions of the Covenant and Flood. Brutes are terrifyingly pathetic, as are the Flood. Melee was wayy too useful in that game.

lol thats all i would do to the flood its like 1 hit melee kinda lame
The Halo 3 campaign is superior.
Overall Halo 4s defiantly.
Better pacing. Better, more involving story.
Only thing I liked about 3 more was it’s better climax, explosions, and overall lighting.
Halo 3. Better characters, better set pieces and a way more believable villain.

It completely ruined the Flood encounters in that game. The Flood are supposed to be terrifying, unpredictably suicidal enemies that close the gap, because once they do? It’s game over for you. Even a Spartan can’t resist the bone-snapping whips of their tentacles, yet-… I can punch through them like they were clods of dirt now? What happened to it being nearly impossible to kill them with melee in the past two games?
If I’m being honest, I think the CE-Flood were the best. Large waves of infection forms, packs of carrier forms stalking you constantly, and then combat forms with a variety of weapons and tactics. The one thing I did like about Halo 2 Flood were their vehicle hijacking capabilities, but in Halo 3 this didn’t make much of a reprise either.
So all in all, Halo 3 bombed with the enemy NPCs.

Yes CE Flood was pretty hard and bad -Yoink!- especially on the keyes mission.
Halo 3 of course. More vehicles, enemy classes, main characters, and lots of noticable refrences back to the previous 2 games (Last level was AOTCR from CE, several characters, weapons and music return from Halo 2, etc.)
Alot of stuff in Halo 4 just feels like reach 2. -.-
Halo 4, because it didn’t have the Cortana mission. The Flood are cool, but damn are they annoying.
Halo 4 because it is the first campaign that made me very emotional. D,: I like how it revolves the story around MC and Cortana’s relationship. I think focusing on her rampancy was a must and I’m glad how it turned out. The only complaint I have about the campaign is the fact that I can’t hear the music very well during the missions. They are great OSTs composed by Davidge but amidst all the gun sounds and background noises, it was drowned out.
