Halo 4 Voice Chat?

This may be a dumb question, so forgive me. But how does chatting work in Halo 4? I mean, chatting with the other team…? During games can you hear each other or just your own team? Does it work anything like Halo 2 proximity voice works? Cause IMO that was the best way to do it!

Proximity voice was superb, really wish it came back.
I think you can only hear your team, that’s what it’s like in Flood anyway.
