halo 4 viral campain (viral marketing)

there was a trailer was shown on ESPN in the US during Miami Heat’s basketball game.
Shortly afterwards a Halo 4 banner appeared on the ESPN site, if you press play some weird stuff starts to happen.
halo 4 viral vid

there’s latin text, backwards text, some numbers that so far mean nothing, but will obviously be of significance down the line.

do you think they are going to do a big viral campaign like ilovebees did for halo 2?
if so what r you thoughts on it.

edit: i will be updating and adding new things as they come out. for now this is all they have released

link is broken, getting the 404 Not found page

I would hope they would do a viral campaign as well as one on television.

> link is broken, getting the 404 Not found page

link fixed sorry about that

Wait, what? That link is just a normal advertisement.

That was so cool! It felt like my computer was being taken over by some ancient forerunner security protocol. Im really loving the marketing this time round!

> Wait, what? That link is just a normal advertisement.

can you not see all the activity happening all over the screen?

also does anyone know if we are suppose to do something with this, is there any significance to the numbers and texts or is it all for show?

watch again but don’t watch the advertisement, look under at at the webpage as it is playing =]

Somebody needs to find out what those codes or whatever mean.

I’m working on trying to see what the ones in another language says, once i find out ill update my thread with what they say.

Sure hope so, it’s really cool so far!

as of right now i don’t think anything, I’m working on writing down every code and all that shows up (the best i can) but i have no idea what to do with them

That was epic.

I hope it has a deeper meaning. I like how it makes your monitor act similar to the monitors on the Infinity, it’s like the Cryptum scanned your computer as well.

Where is the “I don’t know” voting choice?

> Where is the “I don’t know” voting choice?

lol i guess i should add that huh

Hey guys. Sorry to tell you but this stuff has already been decoded. The strings of code that flash up near the ad are just segments of code taken from ESPN’s source code and the backwards text is indeed a real language. It’s Latin. But the translations are just random words. It’s a form of gibberish called ‘Dummy text’. It’s basically randomly generated sentences in Latin that use a selection of words from about 200 different words. Afraid that this isn’t the start of a new ilovebees. Sorry.

The decoding was done by myself and a group of other members on a thread which was created a few days ago. (Sorry but I can’t find the link)
