Halo 4 utility weapon + Sniper

Halo 4 Utility Weapon

Technical

  • Single Shot- 4 shot kill/8 body shots to kill- 1.2sec kill time / 2.4 body shot kill time- 16 round mag- Total ammo carrying capacity 5mags + 1 in the gun- Scope-x3- 2 shots+ Melee = kill

Gameplay Functions

  • No Aim-Assist- Hit-scan

Analysis: Kill times will be fast but it will take good skill to get a kill. Pro vs. Pro kill times will be slower than Pro vs. Noob kill times. Hit-scan makes shooting easier and nooby but it is needed to make online play more efficient, so Aim-Assist is taken away to balance this. No Aim-Assist will make strafing more effective even with movement acceleration.

Halo 4 Sniper

Same Rate of Fire as Halo CE sniper but with Hit-scan and No Aim-Assist.

Analysis: Sniper will take more skill and will be more efficient in online play.

I like most of this, but I disagree that hit-scan makes shooting “more nooby”; it makes a far more reliable system that isn’t as prone to packet loss as real bullets are over live. also, “no aim-assist” is a little drastic; halo 1 or 2 style aim is perfect. I’d like it to be a rifle still, but if it is a pistol that plays anything like the halo ce pistol, that’s fine.

the sniper should play like the halo 3 sniper, in relation to hitboxes and auto-aim, imo; it was a good amount of skill, it could obviously stand to shoot faster if we’re reducing the utility weapon to 1.2 seconds.

on that note, i’d say 1.5 second kill time; .5 per shot seems reasonable, in order to prevent the ZB reach style pistol (mash off four, your opponent doesn’t have time to turn around before death).

but yeah, looks good to me. i would rather err closer to your suggestions than a style of play like Reach.

Hit-scan does make things easier to hit so thats why I said to turn off aim assist. If Aim-Assist must be on it should be around 10-15% but I would rather have it at 0% since strafing would be more effective, more so than it is now in reach. When people know there are fast kill times it gets them interested to get better to acheive those fast kill times.

You cannot be serious…
