I know there will be the shotgun, BR, DMR, AR, magnum, rocket launcher, sniper rifle, and the newly anticipated rail gun but i have just have 3 questions for you all concerning of other weapons. Feel free to voice your opinion.
Will the spartan laser and/or grenade launcher make a return in halo4?
Will the rocket magnum be its own weapon or a magnum add on in halo 4?
Will the assault carbine pretty much be the new SMG?

The Spartan Laser has been confirmed. the Grenade Launcher is probably being replaced by the ARC-920. The Rocket Pistol has been confirmed, besides, they wouldn’t have put it in the first trailer if they weren’t planning on using it in the game. The Assault Carbine has a different name now(Don’t ask what it is, I don’t know), but It is assumed that It might actually be a version of the Plasma Repeater.
Spartan Laser was confirmed to return.

Hmm…I hope the Assault Carbine is the new SMG. That would be cool. If they bring back the Grenade Launcher (Kinda doubt they will) they need to make it so the timed-detonation is just as lethal to players as the regular shot BUT with the EMP for vehicles.
the grenade launcher is one of the greatest things Bungie came up with for REACH… i would hate for 343 to scrap it! unless somehow that grenade pistol has the same Mechanics as the launcher… i would be happy

I think the Bungie guys who played the game at new york confirmed it. Either that or they confirmed it in a Sparkast where they talked about ordnance drops.
Personally i love every single weapon from the halo universe, and i hope they all make it into the new game. Well except for the needler =p

- Yes, the splaser is back, no word on the grenade launcher.
- The grenade pistol thing is a new weapon, as 343 has an animation for it, seen in the “Making of Halo 4” video
- Nobody has any idea. 343i doesn’t tell us much.
