I just had a cool idea for the menus in halo 4. Because the multiplayer is set on the UNSC infinity, maybe instead of having a plain boring menu you could wander around the ship and go to certain areas of the ship to access specific gamemodes, such as matchmaking, forge, campain, etc. i just thought this would be an extra cool feature they could even implement some sort of library or archive so people could find more out about the universe. There could obviously be some sort of quick travel or quick menu as well. Some people will probably say that it would be a waste of time but i think it would be cool to look around the ship, in the training areas, docking bay, vehicle depo, etc while the ship is running with the UNSC marines and personnel around you. They could also add easter eggs
P.S I’m just wondering if the player will have full access to the whole ship or just to the holo-room where multiplayer will take place, if anything has been announced or mentioned about this already i’m sorry.

Your ideas sound better than static menus of blue or a glassed Reach with space debris
As for your second part of your post, all we know is that the Spartan IVs will use the holo deck for training simulations. That’s all we know so far.
Well that and the two maps known as Wraparound and Warhouse (btw these are NOT the final names of the maps).
i think it is a great idea…(like black ops) not saying the idea is bad
No thanks, I prefer the plain boring menu… if at least there was an option to toggle it.
Awesome idea!
Hey would we have weapons or no? Because that would bring up whether or not we could kill people during that and what would happen if we did.
This would be really cool. I’ve always wanted a menu like this in halo. So many easter egg opportunities.

NO.
I dont want longer loading times. The loading times in reach are already annoying.
brilliant idea I approve 100%

How would this increase loading times :S

This would be cool if you started team killing and the whole ship went on alert to try and kill you xD
and this feature if used should be optional so it can be toggled between a normal menu and my idea
I also think this is a great idea, especially about the Easter egg possibilities. However, I would also say that there should be an option to use a more traditional menu for the people who don’t like this idea.
sup, itz me jack why dont u post ur other ideaz?
While the idea is really cool in theory, I have a feeling that it would get somewhat long and annoying after a while. After all, menus have always remained simple throughout the years for a reason. Players want to start up the game and get into the action as quickly and simply as possible, having to walk around to try to find what you want would be frustrating and rather unneeded.

maybe some of the easter eggs could link in with the story, be funny or once found they could eran you certain unlockables

Maybe have it as an option or preference, or there could be a button on the simple menu to switch or you could pause it while on the infinity.
No thank you. I want to navigate the menu quickly to play what I want to play, not taking wasting time walking around a ship.
This would be optional and could be changed between the infinity and the basic menu by the player

Well i did post an idea about a gametype similar to a new mode in Halo 4 (spartan ops) on the bungie forums but i didn’t say there would be a plot or new missions released every week, whether this is where 343i got the initial idea from or whether they got the idea from another game (CoD), i don’t know.

I’ve always preferred menus to just be functional but I’d have no problem with something like this, if it didn’t increase loading times or take ages to get somewhere.
Come on people i want your opinions on the poll to try and get this noticed by 343i.
It could be changed and toggled between the normal the normal menu so no one can complain.
And it has limitless capabilities for DLC or extra game modes, such as defend the ship: this could be on foot as the ship is being boarded or out in space fighting off waves of enemy fighters so that some sort of firefight mode could be implemented, so many things could be added into the infinity menu game mode. I can’t think of a downside of having this mode/menu included in the game.

That could work, so each person could have the experience they want. But this would also take up a lot of development time that could be put into something else that would have more impact on the actual game experience.
