Halo 4 Tweaks and Changes (Constructive)

Good day everyone,
I was looking through the forums lately and have noticed how so much of the feedback is very poorly done. To the point of just whining. Also during my journey a little bit ago I saw some extreme complaining and noticed that the Username was my own. Confused I asked my friend who was over earlier about it and he said he was trolling on my account. So I apologize for that and will be removing the posts. Sorry if anyone was offended by the posts. While I am annoyed at Halo, I do not mean to come off so childish this time.

Now on to business. I am just wanting to point out a few things that bug me with this game and how I think they could be fixed.

Hopefully with weapon balancing coming we will no longer be having major problems in that area, so I won’t touch on it right now.

Honestly, I am not a big fan of Infinity settings. At times it is fun, but it doesn’t suit my playstyle. I have gotten used to it and can play well, but it doesn’t hold my interest long. On the other side though I am not a huge competitive player either. Team Throwdown hasn’t been a favored playlist of mine. I’m more in the middle, in previous titles I spent more time playing Social Slayer than Ranked Slayer, I like the older formula. Now that doesn’t mean I want a complete exact carbon copy of Halo 2/3. I would like the foundations to be a little closer though.
Here are a few things that I think could benefit Infinity settings. While I would like an all out Classic Playlists, I feel these changes could help make the rest of the game function better as well.

Overview
-1- Loadouts
-2- Sprint
-3- Personal Ordinance
-4- Global Ordnance vs Set Weapons
-5- Assassinations
-6- Instant Respawn
-7- Kill Cams

-1- Loadouts. Loadouts have bothered me for awhile, its not that they aren’t a fun idea, I just feel they generally take away from the gameplay. Instead of two people spawning with the same AR, BR, or DMR, etc; they instead spawn with two different weapons. So two people spawn at the same time facing each other across a map. Whichever spawns with the long range weapon wins. Now of course map design should prevent this from happening, but it still creates an issue of fair gameplay. I do not feel they should be removed entirely. I would like to see a regular playlist without them is all. (Classic Playlist could solve this.) I think they are good for certain gametypes. I don’t think you should be allowed to spawn with Plasma Nades or Plasma Pistol though. Vehicular warfare has suffered greatly from this. I would also prefer it if we could pick up grenades from a body as default, instead of having to waste a perk space.

-2- Sprint. I understand a lot of the controversy here. I have a love/hate relationship with sprint. Which is why I would love to see it optional. It works sometimes, other times it doesn’t. Big Team should have sprint, large maps, lots of traveling if you don’t have a vehicle. But 4v4 matches shouldn’t have it. Instead maybe boost base player speed on those matches. I think a lot could be solved with that.

-3- Personal Ordnance. I was excited when I first heard this would be in Halo 4. After having played the game for awhile I realize that it has some serious flaws. First I think that your streak should reset when you die(Unfortuently, like Cod), this would mean that the player would have to work a little harder to gain their drop. I also feel that the power weapons need to go. Instead we should have choices like Ammo Refill, Grenade Refill(Currently there), AA change(Team Throwdown). I think the ability to change AA’s could be extremely handy, imagine you are going on a long streak, but suddenly you decide you need Regen field instead of thruster pack, well, currently you would need to die in order to make that change, but with this change you would have the option right there. The game changes, but the player cannot unless he dies? I find this counter-intuitive. Another option that I think could be interesting(although I believe impossible to add to Halo 4) is the ability to have a basic weapon drop. So like in your start menu you choose a weapon like the Carbine in your ordnance priority and then have the option to have basic weapons dropped for you. Again, the game changes, how many people are you going to find using a Suppressor to change your weapon to? This would make that possible. (My post below about set spawned weapons would make this last idea pointless, since the weapon would already be on the map.)

-4- Global Ordnance vs Set Weapons. I honestly don’t see why we can’t have both? But make some changes to the system. I would like to see set spawned weapons returned to all maps, I believe this would help build control points and create interesting close quarters combat. Would also be nice to have the weapons there for ammo and pickup (If this were the case a few of my ideas for Ordinance would be obsolete). Would also make getting power weapons possible if my ideas for Personal Ordinance were implemented. Now the changes to Global Ordinance would be have them always land in the same spot. But have the timers random. That way someone couldn’t just keep count and camp the spot whenever it returns. If it’s set both sides know where it’s going to be. Two should come down at the same time though, carrying the same weapon. Have one on either side of the map. That way one team is awarded a game changer while the other is not. There are flaws in these ideas(would really love your feedback for this section!), but I think with testing they could work.

-5- Assassinations. While these are very fun, one change I would like them to make is to change the amount of time you have to hold the button to enter the animation. I frequently find myself making an animated assassination on accident in this game. It happened in Halo Reach, but I feel it is easier in this one. It would be nice if they changed that just a bit to make it more reliable, because what with lag I’m never fully sure.

-6- Instant Respawn. IR is a cool idea for some gametypes, but doesn’t work for others. In Slayer gametypes I don’t feel like it has a place. I like the option to have it, but in general I’m not a fan of seeing it in matchmaking except for Griffball and games like that.

-7- Kill Cams. Instead of ingame killcams I believe that if they took a page outta Cod and had a final Killcam it would be more fun. Ingame killcams are bothersome, because it shows your location exactly. Instead of the camera just looking in your general direction like when its disabled, which I believe is a better method.

Currently I am going to leave it at that. Let me know your ideas, your criticism, your opinions. I’ll welcome them all. But most of all, lets try to be constructive.
Good day,
Inferno

I also want to include that the crouching system in this game is the best out of all of them. Because you can push and hold to crouch or click to crouch without having to change settings. Makes for a very smooth gameplay.
