In the new Halo 4 trailer we see the spartans lining up to go into the augmentation treatment. Then we hear a voice saying “018” then the red haired girl steps forward so that probably her service number.
But I looked up and it shows that spartan 018 was a male named Kirk, some of you may already know about him but was this a mistake.
Heres that part of the trailer so you can see.

Yep. I was curious about this. The girl matches the description of Linda-058, so it could be that this was intended to be her. Seems someone in post-production made a minor error, or it’s a really distorted “058”.
ive listened to that part multiple times and i hear “zero one eight”. theres no trace of a “v” sound
ok you guy maybe right but to me it definitely sounds like he’s saying “018”
Its a distorted, subtle, 058, turning the volume up a bit lets you clearly hear 058 :), but yeah some people thought they said 018 but I knew off the bat it was indeed Linda, I like that they seem to now be introducing the other Spartan II’s into the games, media, in these kind of ways. Can I haz Fred in Spartan Ops?
Just listened to it once more, they do say 058, not 018, its clearer in the Youtube video than it is on Waypoint.

This ones quality is a little higher than the previous one posted, but its pretty clear 058 is the intended number.

still sounds like 018, I now know this is Linda but the number the voice is calling sounds wrong.

Yeah I noticed he says the number really fast, and I think it throws off the sound somewhat, perhaps to be subtle but it could of been a little more refined tbh.

yes that what im getting, i dont hear a 5 in there.
Put on headphones and blast the sound to max. It sounds a lot more like “five” that way.
Either way, there’s so much distortion that it could have been interpreted in a number of ways.

I have and it sounds nothing like 058, it’s definitely 018 from what im hearing.

I put my speakers on max and I can hear a five.

Same here but I hear a 1 instead of a 5. I asked a few friends to listen to it out of curiosity and they all hear the number 1.
