Well if you don’t know mass effect 3( halos sci-fi Xbox rival ) became a disappointment to of its fans due to many reasons. One of which was closure to the series. If 343 is going to make the next big thing with halo, they need to be very careful planning out things. One of which is to give halo 4 to halo 6 closure to to the best gaming universe. What do you think?
Legends never die, they’re just missing in action.
Seal the hushed Casket.
It’ll be fine.

Well, bioware wanted a weak ending so that they could sell story related DLC and milk the game, just like they’ve done with their other games lately, buy the game get 1/2 the story…
343i on the other hand can’t sell story related DLC in the same manner, maybe a few “spin off” projects like ODST, but I doubt pure DLC for many reasons. I bet they got a pretty good idea on how to end/continue this trilogy, and they got many years to come until they got to seal the deal, so to speak.
Epic managed to make a great ending to Gears 3 and should have an honourable mention for that, especially since they too could have made an open ended-DLC related ending ^^
mass effect is not halo’s rival…
Just kill Chief. That would be enough closure for me.
Sorry but, Halo 6 will be the end of Chief’s story. Doesn’t mean we will be done with the Halo Universe completely.
There is much more to explore. I would like to pplay a game based on pure Forerunner vs. Flood. No humans, nno covenant, just living breathing forerunners doing what it takes to live.

By killing everyone else.
LOL.
They will make games after Halo 6…,trust me
> Just kill Chief. That would be enough closure for me.
Spartans never die, just MIA. He is going to go into comma or something, 343 knows the connection that we all have with the chief and knows that it would ruin a lot if they simply killed him off. Plus he is the froggin chief, what could kill him?
> Spartans never die, just MIA.
Tell that to Sam. And Vihn. And Isaac. And Grace. And nearly every Spartan on Reach. Need I go on?
> He is going to go into comma or something, 343 knows the connection that we all have with the chief and knows that it would ruin a lot if they simply killed him off. Plus he is the froggin chief, what could kill him?
So basically they will just put Chief in a coma or freeze him just so they can -Yoink!- him out every time Microsoft needs money instead of actually, I don’t know, give the character an appropriate conclusion.

ACTUALLY, the humans fought the flood first, way waaaaaay back when the forerunner existed. See, the Forerunner and the Humans were both canidates to inherit the mantle, so they got into a war with each other. However, the forerunner didn’t know it but the humans were fighting a two sided war, with the flood at their backs as well.
Due to this, the humans lost the war with the Forerunners, and the forerunners basicly deevolved the humans, and set their tech level back by well, a lot. but then, when they found out about the flood, eventually they had to activate the halos, destroying every sentient being in the galaxy, and then they recreated all the beings they destroyed using utomatic systems. thats how current humans got here. after the war with the forerunners however, there were still humans alive, so even in the game you just detailed, humans would be there.

I know the story of that very well. You misunderstood my post. Nothing did i speak about Forerunners being the first to combat the flood, Nor did I talk about the mantle. I was talking about a game based during the Flood-Forerunner war where the Forerunners are at a disadvantage because of not knowing their new threat they never faced before.
I’m talking about having no Humans in the story of Flood vs Forerunner.

SSSSHHHHHHH… giving away spoilers without labeling it? Shame on you…

Yeah, spoilers from over a year ago. How horrible.
/sarcasm
Then there will be a Halo 7,8,and 9
I’d love to have some campaign DLC for Halo. Just some extra side missions that do not necessarily impact the main campaign, yet give us more of Master Chief in action.
Depending on where the story goes from 4-6, I wouldn’t be too bothered by Chief’s story ending and another takes his place. But it would be hard though. Chief IS Halo. This is in part why Wars, ODST, and Reach were not as well received.
Halo without Chief just doesn’t seem like Halo.
So then, this begs the question, if NOT Master Chief in Halo 7 (if there is one), then who would take his place?
Buck would be too old by then as well. Even the Spartan IVs would be getting older.
Also, without a new enemy to face, is there a need for Spartans?
That is the dilemma. How does 343 continue with Halo after Halo 6 without rehashing the same story in some form?
Personally, I’d LOVE to see prequels. I’m talking the original Forerunner/Human era prequels, not Reach era.
Going WAY back would be a great way to continue to series and also alleviate the need for Master Chief.
(Unless of course he and Cortana time travel back to that era and he meets Guilty Spark (that’s why 343GS “knew” him in CE). <–just a guess there of course.
Ah, it’s fun conjecturing.
I’m just scared. Bioware destroyed mass effect. I dont 343 doing that on halo.
