I’ve seen some trailers with the chief holding an AR at the end. Seeing as one of the bonuses of the LE is an AR skin maybe they’re focusing on making the AR deadlier. Otherwise that’s like giving us a skin for the plasma pistol. What do you think?

I’d really like a nice buff for the Assault Rifle. It has a lot of potential.
Yea maybe but some range on it, not a lot
It’s always possible. Doubt it, but I think they did that more for the people who like the AR since the Chief and the AR are almost always seen together…
It’s be really disappointing if the AR is the most powerful gun in the game, and it wouldn’t make sense to do that really. It’s just the iconic gun of the franchise since the first game and you have to give out a skin for one of the guns. You might as well give it to the gun that you start your Infinity career with.
Although AR is one of the less favorite weapons in multiplayer, it is likely the most iconic weapon of the game. Just for the design itself.
They said they were making it more powerful to compete with the dmr and br, at least at close to mid range.
why is he always holding the AR
Well I can guarantee they’ll buff it. They’ve been making guns fittin different playstyles, all that’s left is close range. That gun really needs to be better, I do like it but I ALWAYS need to pummel with it.
I hope they focus more on the AR this time around, in halo 3 they reduced it ammo, then in reach they reduced its damage.
I think its time for the AR to return to glory
In almost every trailer and screen he has the AR. This includes previous games. I don’t want to say it’s the signature gun but once you see that gun you already know “That’s Halo.”
I’d imagine we will see skins for other weapons in the game. They are proabably just giving it to us because it is the basic gun.
> why is he always holding the AR
'cause he can beast with any weapon.
OT: They said they are making the AR feel, act, and sound more beefy.
It still shouldn’t be the most powerful. There is a gameplay reasons at it is not and that’s because the game should reward people who use semi-automatic weapons. With those, you have to worry about aiming and timing shots. With automatic weapons, all you have to do is aim. Why would you make a gun more powerful that when its wielder only has to worry about one thing? It makes no sense.
EDIT: It also promotes spraying. It should be the best close range weapon, but it shouldn’t be insanely powerful. That’d be stupid and allow it to go beyond its intended range.
All weapons should be deadly if used correctly. And most wepaons should not be versatile. The AR for instance, should have ALOT more spread than previous Halo titles, but should also do ALOT more damage per bullet, should have Bloom, and should NOT aim assist outside of the specifically bloomed radius.
Burst would give it some effectiveness farther away, but up close it should be a monster, much like Gears of War 3s Retro Lancer.
the AR should be a bit more powerful now that I think about it. it should be able to take down shields a little faster, but keep it the same as it has been when shields are down.

lol. What other Halo game was it in? Halo CE! Return to glory?!?!? It was leaps and bounds behind so many weapons in CE. The AR was only ever okay. It’s easy to use and has a very low skill gap. It should NOT be the focus of the game.

The only halo game it was not in was halo 2. The AR was balanced in halo CE but has since become one of the worst weapons in the game. The weapon is easy to fail with (charging at an enemy going fully auto), but for those who know how to use the weapon (crouch and burst fire), it has an average skill gap. im not saying it should be the focus of the game, im saying that it shouldn’t be ignored this time

How dare you insult the GODLIKE PP!

I never had an issue with the PP. It has been my go to secondary since Halo2. If I can’t get a pwr weapon I get a pp.
Possibly, they have talked quite a bit about it. But they also did the same with Halo 3, and that definitely seemed to be the weakest most useless piece of garbage assault rifle in the Halo series.
