ok so i know a lot of people are scared that halo 4 is going to ruin the franchise or that it was already ruined with armor abilities. heres my suggestion, make it an entirely different game. Imagine a third person cover system game similiar to gears of war. I know you want to bite my head off for suggesting this but hear me out. Master cheif is practically a super human. In the books the acrobatic feats he accomplishes are astounding for example in reach he deflects a f*cking missle. a third person game would better suit the character of master chief. Also I think they are not entirely wrong with the armor abilities, at least in the campaign they should give him every armor ability so you can truely be as badass as master cheif really is. I know these things are most likely not going to happen, but i can dream cant i.
I’ve never been a big fan of the third person view and I’m even less of a GoW fan. If Halo 4 tries to copy the GoW third-person style of gameplay, I certainly will not be buying it.
I’d rather them treat any kind of epic badassery that Chief does during gameplay the same way assassinations were handled; a brief animation where the camera pulls back and shows everything before snapping back into place and resuming the first-person carnage.
It would feel too much like ME & GOW
I’m fine with heavy weapons = third-person, A cover system wouldn’t feel like Halo though
I wouldnt be against it for campaign as i love playing star wars battlefront and that was awesome for third person.
although i guess it would be balanced for multiplayer since we do have the motion tracker.
all in all i have adapted but its not something that i think needs to be in game, if it is added you wont see me complaining though
If Halo 4 were to be Third Person I would literally go down to 343i Studios and kill every employee… and then wake up from my Horrific Dream.

All hail to the Battlefront!!!
But first-person is the way to go IMO. I just like it better.
I don’t think 3rd Person should be put in Halo 4. Just doesn’t fit/seem right.

This isn’t GoW it is Halo. Halo is 1st person.
I like first person shooters, not 3rd person shooters. So no.

Viva la battlefront!!!
I prefer third person for the most part, but for halo it should either be optional or in a spin-off.
I don’t see why a Third person option for SP, or playlist, would be such a bad thing.
Modern Warfare 2’s 3rd person playlist was certainly an interesting change of pace and fun to play. If it’s optional, it’s not hurting anyone, and people who want a different style of play can go for it.
As for a cover-system, do not want. Halo has always been a straight up shooter, guy with the best aim wins. Cover slows down and stagnates gameplay. I love Gears of war to pieces, but when it’s not a fast-paced Gnasher (shotgun) fest filled with satisfying gibs and downs, it’s a slow-paced and never-ending rifle back’n’forth session. People will pop their head out of cover, fire, take a little damage, pop back in, wait for their health (or in this hypothetical example shields) to regen, and then repeat endlessly. It’s just not great for the pace of gameplay.
tl;dr: 3rd person view as optional would be nifty. Cover system would not.
Nvm.

I think there should be a mode/playlist where everyone has a third person view but not an option for every playlist cause then if everyone has first person and one person has third person they would have an advantage. So it should just be a playlist so everyone has an equal advantage.
The good thing about Halo is through Vehicles or Turrets we are allowed the 3rd person experience for better control of said things.
But the game should never go full 3rd person, it would just suck.
Just look at CoD MW2. They tried to put in the 3rd person playlist, and it just freaking bombed.
What is with people suggesting weird things today?
I actually am not a big fan of TPS b/c it tends to get confusing. However, I’m slowly getting into it since i recently played Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. However, Halo 4 as a TPS, it really wouldn’t suit me. I rather stick to FPS where i have the firearm or sidearm in front of me as if i were carrying one for really in a way.
Another thing, since edit is not working on my prev. post. I am very surprised there wasn’t a FPS when you drive vehicles. However, the only time I would have FPS would be if i’m driving a Warthog, Hornet, Falcon, Pelican, and Banshee.

I concur…especially with the present, Sprint thread. I posted that i liked it and all hell broke out, lol.
You guys said the exact same things about killstreaks and loadouts. Look at how well those worked out?
I can see it work as a spin off game like Battlefront mechanics and style, but not as the usual Halo games. Wasn’t the Halo MMO supposed to be third person?

If i recall, it was, but was dropped. I’m glad though that it was dropped.
