Halo 4 is going to be one of the best story-telling games of this decade, and there are going to be a lot of mysteries. I have come with quite a few theories with some proof that they could be true. Here is a list of some of my theories:
Theory 1:
UNSC Infinity is a ship meant to seek out new worlds and make peace? I think not. If it were meant to just peaceful, why would you have an entire ship full of EXPERIMENTAL, NEWLY -DEVELOPED breed of Spartans, not to mention a training facility. And these aren’t just stupid recruits for the most part. They have an entire squad called Majestic squad whom you work with throughout Spartan Ops. They aren’t too bad.
I mean sure, I understand that you might need defenses if you are out to explore new worlds with new forms of life, but having the biggest ship in UNSC history full of Spartan IVs going to a place that just HAPPENS to be where chief is…that seems suspicious. Save the Spartan IVs for the war with the Covies, as they are just now rebelling. Having one of your best hopes sent that far away from Earth seems…wrong.
And also, if you watched the Conan O’ Brian show with Halo 4 voicing, you would have heard them say that the UNSC is going to war with this ancient evil, and that near the end of the campaign, Chief is on a ship, and marines are chatting and packing war boxes. And, correct me if I am wrong, but with how far the Infinity is supposed to be from UNSC forces, I don’t think that ship can be anything other than the Infinity.
So, why would this ship meant for peace have tons of supplies for war, Spartan IVs, and be the biggest ship in human history, if it wasn’t a deeper ONI plan…
Theory 2:
Cortana goes rampant and yells at Master Chief at the end of E3. Right? I mean that is what everyone thinks right? Well, if you’ve watched TV, you know they have teasers showing you one person killing/yelling/etc. at someone else, and then they show a clip of the person that they WANT you to think that is happening to. Notice how Master Chief isn’t in the camera when Cortana is yelling. What if she is not yelling at the chief? let that one sink in for a moment before reading on.
So, if she isn’t yelling at John, who can she be yelling at? We pretty much know this ancient evil is the Diadact. He has an army of prometheans ready to take over the world…hey…wait a minute. You ARE fighting prometheans, right? So, why would she be yelling at him saying “I cannot allow you to leave this plant,”? Well, unleashing the prometheans would be bad enough for humanity, but what if it has to do with the Infinity? We know at some point, the Infinity crashes, and the prometheans invade it. Now three things could happen at this point.
- Diadact takes control of Spartans somehow and they start training to kill other humans. EVIDENCE: There is only one piece of evidence for this really: The UNSC has promethean weapons, and those weapons aren’t generated I don’t think like the arenas. Plus, they actually DO disintegrate those Spartans, which would make sense, considering the Diadact could care less about the humans in those suits.
- The Diadact repairs the ship so the prometheans can escape Requiem. This would explain why Cortana is yelling about not leaving the planet. However, then this would not account for why the Spartans are then fighting the Covies 6 months later in Spartan Ops.
- He leaves the ship…in which case, Cortana could still be yelling at someone else.
If you guys have any theories, just post them below as I would be happy to read some of them.
