Halo 4 Theories

Halo 4 Theories

Reasons for Master Chiefs New Armour- As seen in the Halo 4 teaser trailer, MC is sporting some new armour, but where would he get this new armour if he’s been drifting in space for a length of time. Well, maybe there was armour on the FuD (Forward Unto Dawn), maybe not. Maybe he was only wearing new armour in the trailer because 343 wanted to show off that you would be getting new armour in the next game, but maybe not right in the beginning. It could be possible that the new armour MC is wearing is re-purposed Forerunner armour. The planet he’s seen falling into is most definitely Forerunner made, or by some species that is more technologically advanced than humans. If it was Forerunner made it is possible that due to Cortana’s already vast knowledge on Forerunners (gained in Halo: CE) that she created more advanced armour to suit him. Or there was armour already made for humans, by forerunners. As seen in Halo: The Flood, 343 Guilty Spark states: “These sentinels will supplement your combat systems. But I suggest you upgrade to at least a class twelve combat skin. Your current model only scans as a Class Two-which is unsuited for this kind of work." Pg 240. If Guilty Spark knows that he can equip a higher level of combat armour, even though he is a Reclaimer, and not Forerunner, then it is possible that MC will gain new armour upon entering this new world.

Possible Enemies- Well, for starters, I personally think fighting Forerunners would be stupid. Why fight against a species that has the same ultimate goal as you, and that’s to wipe out the flood. It’s also possible that there are no Forerunners left. If they’ve been alive for 100, 000 years, why have they chosen to hide all that time, instead of re-claim what was theres. Maybe its meant for the Reclaimers, who knows, but IMO the Forerunners are gone. However, there machinery is still around, as seen in every Halo game. Now this doesn’t mean we will be fighting only traditional sentinels, because that wouldn’t create fun gameplay, but the Forerunners could have created other machines to combat the Flood. As seen in Halo 2 they had other machines than just sentinels. While searching around Halopedia I found some concept art for Forerunners. http://images.wikia.com/halo/images/4/41/Ih_promethean_bullet.jpg This was concept art for an actual Forerunner, but it wouldn’t be too hard to take this concept art and make it into a new type of sentinel. One that walks around, doesn’t fly. This could replace the Elite as an enemy, still fun to kill, while providing it’s own unique challenges. There could/should be other designs as well, maybe a sniper drone, for jackals etc. Now, we may also be fighting the Flood, but again, not the traditional Flood. The Flood we all know and hate (maybe love) is only that way because of the bodies it has available. Humans, elites, grunts, jackals etc etc. And they form over a very quick time, never changing, never really, evolving. The Flood that’s been in this planet though will most likely be different. These Flood have infected Forerunner bodies, but they’ve also been alive for 100, 000 years. This is a long time, and so the Flood we could possibly be fighting might be more evolved, more intelligent, more advanced, and probably won’t fight in the same zombie-like manner we are all used too. Or they could be the same, and just as annoying IMO.

UNSC or Covenant presence- Since I have seen no concrete evidence of there being no UNSC, it is possible that they could make an appearance. Maybe not in Halo 4, but quite possibly Halo 5 or 6. The Covenant however, won’t be in it. Frank O’Connor stated there will be “No Purple,” but, the Covenant isn’t the same anymore. The Elites are no longer a part of it. The Covenant doesn’t really exist anymore either. As seen in the short story The Return, the Elites went to war with the Brutes, shortly after Halo 3. It was not an easy battle due to the fact that the Prophets were supplying the Brutes with advanced weaponry. However, later on the Prophets went into hiding, no one could find them. Due to the lack of leadership, the Brutes began there own civil wars, while fighting the Elites. The Elites won, but now only a handful of Elites still hunt down Brutes. The Grunts and Jackals are not mentioned, but I think the Grunts went dormant, bothering nobody but themselves. The Jackals went back to being pirates and whatnot. Since the Covenant doesn’t really exist, it’s member species might make an appearance. Jackals could find the planet and make it there highest concern due to the amount of money they could make from so much Forerunner artifacts. Elites could stumble upon it. Brutes could be hiding there, etc etc. Prophets could be hiding there, and no one can find them. So, it’s possible these things will happen in Halo 4, or maybe in 5 + 6.

Is the mystery Planet actually Onyx?- I don’t think it is. In Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, the surface was cleared by the 3 meter long sentinels. However, afterwards, when studied through the satellites placed by the UNSC Dusk, it showed that the surface was made up of those sentinels. I quote: “The Drones were the Planet Onyx” pg 378. It is also possible that when Onyx’s surface was destroyed, all that remained was a protective bubble of linked Sentinels, protecting a tiny ball which housed the shield world. Also, in the upcoming book Halo: Glasslands, Dr. Halsey seems to be a pretty important character, probably a main one. Not one that is talked about, but one that is actually there. This would mean Dr. Halsey got out, and so they would definitely know where Onyx is, and there would probably be a UNSC presence in-game then. Now, in the trailer the planet doesn’t seem to be made of tiny sentinels, so I think it isn’t Onyx.

Mendicant Bias, Alive or Dead- Most likely alive. There are some who believe Mendicant Bias (MB) has hidden a part of himself, or all of himself in Cortana’s programming. The proof is that, after Mendicant’s Defeat at the hands of Offensive bias, he was most likely split up, Offensive states that he would like to do this, and bring a piece to the Ark. As seen throughout the Terminals in Halo 3, MB has a presence on The Ark. It is possible that he also had a presence on Alpha Halo, what other safest place would there be than the Rings, and the Keyship he was also on. In Halo: First Strike, when Cortana goes into the mainframe of the Covenant ship they took over, she comes in contact with a Covenant AI that contains code similar to hers. It was also a very defective AI. It’s possible that the Covenant made copies of MB from the Keyship they had, and made AI’s, but due to the high chance that every copy will be poorer than the original, these AI’s weren’t very effective, especially against Cortana. Since they were made from MB though, how could they be the same as her? Because MB hid himself in her, on Alpha Halo, and made her think it was actually a part of her. This is a possibility, and it could work out.

Offensive Bias- While not much is known about him, he may play a key role in the next trilogy. If MB survived 100, 000 years, in pieces, then Offensive Bias could almost definitely survive as a whole. They were both Contender Class AI’s, the strongest, and the best. He could be on this planet, trying to ensure the survival of whatever’s inside, and he could also be fighting a possible Flood presence inside. He could also be fighting FOR that Flood presence. MB was made to talk with grave mind, find his weaknesses, see if he could make him leave. Offensive Bias was not made for this, so he could’ve easily been corrupted over 100, 000 years, and now you’ve been dragged into this mess and have to clean it up, before Offensive Bias releases unspeakable horrors upon an already war torn galaxy. OR, since MB might be in Cortana, he might see this as an act of treason, that you’d bring him to such a sacred place, in more than one piece, so he’s stronger than he was on the Ark. This is why he might make you fight the new sentinel types. He might also control the new Flood too…double whammy.

Halo: Reach ending- The ending to Halo: Reach may play a significant role in the next trilogy. After 30 years, humans can re-terraform Reach already. But as we see in the video, there is an unknown structure, or possibly a ship seen on the left side of the screen. Is it possible that this is a Forerunner ship? I think so. This is the cover of the upcoming book Halo: Primordium. You are being redirected... The ship that takes up the most room, looks a lot like this ship, as seen in the ending video for Halo: Reach. http://static.blogo.it/gamesblog/halo_reach_ending.jpg Now, they aren’t exact copies, obviously, but I think they share a similar form of architecture. So, I think it is highly likely that, the ship is indeed a Forerunner ship. Maybe this is how it all ends, in the same place were it all really begins. Maybe MC is on that ship. He could’ve wanted to, after all is done in Halo 4, 5 and 6, want to go back to the only home he really knew, and that is Reach. He could also have died en route home, or before. Maybe that ship is his tomb. As seen in the Besterium, I think, that in 2689 MC is still labelled MIA, but it is still my personal opinion that he made it back, because, as we all know, Spartans never die, there just Missing In ActionAnyways, these are my theories and thoughts. Most of them original, except for MB being in Cortana. Collaborative input provided by Winsbo. I now turn it over to you, Halo community, what are your thoughts and or opinions on my crazy, and probably incorrect theories?

I refuse to read any of that wall of dribble.

Well, you don’t have to, if you don’t even put the effort into reading, why bother posting something like that?

On a different topic, sorry for the links guys i don’t know how to make them hyper links, and it’s my first forum.

I like how you save face by actually making your posts paragraphs now.

And still.

  1. Chief may probably ad Forerunner pieces of armor to his existing armor, what we see in the trailer is simply CGI.

  2. There is only one logical enemy, the last Precursor. Now what his minions will be is a mystery.

  3. Chief is lightyears and lightyears away from Human or Covenant space and is still missing after 2610, no UNSC or Covenant.

  4. It’s just a sphere for now, I agree on it not being Onyx.

  5. Bias is dead, he said in the terminals, “At the end of my life.”

  6. Offensive Bias is a wildcard, we’ll see if he/it makes a presence.

  7. That makes no sense at all.

Ok, you need to stop being so mean and against people posts. Really? “7. That makes no sense at all.” Seriously?

Master Chief being on a recolonization ship even though the timeline says he is still missing makes sense to you? Don’t be ridiculous.

I have yet to see any concrete evidence that, that ship is a colonization ship. While it makes sense, it’s still a theory. And even if the timeline says he is still missing, he would be classified MIA, so then he really is missing in action still, in the 2600’s, or he dies at the end of Halo 6, in which case ONI would still classify all Spartan’s as MIA regardless if they’ve been killed or not.

Halo Nation - A segment of Medicant Bias was left on the forerunner ship at High Chairty, and that is where he met and tried to communicate with Chief through the terminals. It is also rumoured that Medicant closed the portal on Chief and cortana and purposely brought them to the legenedary planet at the end of Halo 3.

Basically, Mendicant, Offensive, flood, and sentinels, but different kinds of flood and sentinels, will most likely make an appearance in Halo 4. UNSC and Covenant IF they are floating thousands of light years away won’t be there, but we don’t know if it is actually THAT far away, we can only assume once Cortana at the end of Halo 3 says “It’ll take years even.”
