Halo 4: The Casual Argument

Good evening Waypoint, i have noticed an awful amount of threads speaking of ranked playlists, kill times, map flow etc. Topics that are hardly interesting but i am going to present to you my argument why the we the casuals are right and the competitive community is full mean (if skilled) players who would like nothing more to see us burn in a fire. I don’t buy it for a second that they are “opening” up to the casual community. They only do this not out of kindness and change of heart but because their competitive scene is stagnating. A direct result of boring, stripped down gameplay, and terrorizing our innocent community for ten years straight.

First off ranking systems? Please, we don’t need that. Reach was perfect because the search times were fast and we got to unlock all sorts of cool armor! No one could make fun of you because there was no ranked playlists! At last we could have fun again and escape persecution we’ve faced since Halo 2/Halo 3! Bungie made the best design choices in the entire gaming industry by doing this for us, the real Halo fans. The TU and bleedthru ruined Halo Reach because they made it faster and more balanced, though but i forgave 343 because they are making Halo 4 and what i saw makes me have faith again! With no ranked in playlists, i even pre ordered the LE and bought a LE console just to show how much of a loyal fan i am.

Secondly, these talks of kill times? Bah, disgusting and irrelevant. The game is fast enough already and no one really cares about those numbers. Really, they may seem important but you’re not thinking about them in the game and they don’t help you enjoy all the new cool stuff. You’re thinking about how much fun you having; i mean i love to just play the game even though i get carried and go -40 (that’s me trying btw) as running around absorbing bullets for my team. I am not bad either; i just don’t try hard to win. I just need my friends and my trusty AR; not some generic, overhyped utility rifles that discourage weapon variety.

Also, they call themselves fans of Halo but bash 343 every chance they get. Not only do they try very hard in the game but on the forums too. While it is very annoying and they do, on occasion, make good points, it doesn’t matter because in the end they want to ruin our fun and our Halo series. They don’t deserve to have a voice on the forums like we do because at least we appreciate the games instead of trying to boycott them at every opportunity. It’s totally unfair that we have to abide by this but sadly, they allowed to infect us with their “opinions”. It should be against the rules to speak out against 343 or Halo IMO.

While it is true they are better players and know how to play the game, that doesn’t mean anything. They can make hour long rants about how Halo is ruined and that the casual crowd needs to be purged but they are wrong. We are right because again, we understand how to have FUN, which they don’t seem to remember. I can’t fathom how they can think to beat us in any arguments when they forgot the main reason to play video games; for entertainment, not to try hard. Instead, they bash us constantly; blaming us for “destroying my Halo” even though it belonged to the casuals first way before MLG became popular and my favorite “lol Force Colonels”.

Thank you for reading this because we casuals get a ton of hate for no reason at all :(. When we discriminate against competitive players, it is justified because…well just because. They deserve it for making us feel bad about our stats and trying to convince us that halo needs balance and ranked. Halo doesn’t need none of that; it just needs more casual support and fun gametypes.

-Have Fai3th, stay safe.

Nice to know that you posted this to take the mick of my post in another topic, needless to say your sarcasm isn’t need…

Upbeat happy time post? Has such a thing ever occured before?

Nice to see that some people have faith.

This is a joke, right?

> Nice to know that you posted this to take the mick of my post in another topic, needless to say your sarcasm isn’t need…

No, he’s making these posts just to show how silly the two “factions” if you will are sounding at this point.

Seriously, relax dude.

I think his sarcasm is totally needed, it helps lighten things up around here and is a nice change of pace from the usual.

Be happy it’s not a smart -Yoink- like me being sarcastic, I’m positive a -Yoink- storm would erupt in moments.

8/10 Amazing troll work here, could’ve been less obvious though.

> 8/10 Amazing troll work here, could’ve been less obvious though.

My points are going to fly over everyones head. I don’t call that obvious :frowning:

There’s enough room for all of us, whether casual or serious, under the Halo…

9/10

Absolutely fantastic

I see what you did there.
T’was pretty obvious though.

I can’t take this topic very seriously.

Can someone fill me in on what Force Colonel’s are?

> Can someone fill me in on what Force Colonel’s are?

Bad people.

> Can someone fill me in on what Force Colonel’s are?

Players who, despite their best efforts trying to get away from the criticisms, didn’t do so good when they reached level 40 in Halo 3. You can only force us casuals to do so much before we reach our peak and that’s it. I feel sorry for those who did this and failed to get dat 50 because the game is no longer fun once you try hard.’

Thank you competitive players. I have some friends who quit Halo because of you guys -.-

Just lol
OT: If a compedetiv player would have witten a similar thread about casuals then he would have been baned instantly.
Just saying.

Not true, casuals deserve to play Halo as much as those players that formed communities like the THC (which is an epic sham btw).

343 was right in ignoring the competitive community because the expectations are set higher than the skill gap they brag about. You can’t please people like that and so 343 did the right thing and focused on our community because at least we know what we want out of the games.

> Can someone fill me in on what Force Colonel’s are?

People like myself who only got to 44 in Lone Wolves on Halo 3.

I never said they don’t deserve to play? I have friends who are casual who struggle to go positive on a daily basis. They have as much right to play and enjoy it as much as anyone else. They will get owned though.

I feel your pain. :frowning:
