As probably the rest of the community, I was very excited when I picked up my copy of the LE Halo 4 today. Sadly, when I put the game into my console, I soon saw that all the in-game text was in Dutch (seeing as I live in the Netherlands). In my opinion, this is absolutely terrible. Everything has been translated, from menus to mission- and weapon names. I don’t know about other people, but if there’s anything that I hate most about buying games in here, it’s localisations which translate everything. I know this doesn’t affect my gameplay, but seeing Dutch text in a game just kills the immersion completely and makes everything seem extremely unnatural. In fact, every time I see another part that has been translated into Dutch, I cringe a little. Is there any way, any at all to change my in-game text that doesn’t require me to create a new account? I played all the other Halo games in English, and I’d like it to stay that way.

Change your locale to the UK or america, not just your xbox’s language. I had the same problem with all the AC’s, getting -Yoink- such as ‘arendsoog’ and ‘moordenaar’.

How would I do that? Online or in the Xbox itself?

Xbox itself, don’t know the exact spot but you should be able to find it in less than 5 mins if you look under settings.

No problem. And yes, seeing Dutch text in a game is the most god-awful thing imaginable.

I dont want it in Dutch, medal callouts sound totally lame.

Did this work out for you? I can’t seem to change my locale… (profile signs out, and when I try to sign in again, I’m back in Belgium :frowning: )

I have my local as United Kingdom but I still have Dutch text? It’s the same with the dashboard. Just because we are so used to English, everything just sounds weird in Dutch…

It’s great how everything is translated except for the word headshot (Hoofdschot)

Did anyone manage to solve this? I bought the digital download a few days ago and have everything in Dutch as well. Changing my locale to UK didn’t matter (unless I have to redownload the entire game?).

any advice?

Actually, I just tried changing the locale again and now it’s in English.

Last night I changed it, rebooted and tried… was Dutch. Now I changed it, signed out, signed in. All English.
