So I’ve read the all the books and watched the terminals and they dont seem to line up with the books. The first terminal doesnt makes sense at all. The librarian says the enemys need to be eradicated and the didact says no. we cant abandon the mantle but in the he ends up saying we are going to fight back. And when did this take place? before the cryptum book? And why does the didact transform? did he do another brevit mutation…??? and is this bornstellar? if so is the first didact shown in the first terminal the original didact? or born? its all yoinked up!
im guessing Silentium is going to answer some questions but still the first couple terminals don’t make sense at all…unless it all takes before cryptum and then they fast forward after primordium in the terminal where the librarian is talking to the master builder…who is supposed to be dead…idk
sorry for my typing
thanks for reading
There hasn’t been ‘one consistent canon’ since Halo Wars. As much as I don’t like the ridiculous use of the retcon wand, it would be tolerable if they would at least sort it out in an official manner instead of just leaving the fans to figure it out.

I would guess before the Humans killed his children? Perhaps reason enough to switch his position?
It’s pretty easy to grasp, are you saying that because you don’t understand it, it means it broke canon?
The Halo canon has been broken since 343 took it over. Perhaps the worst blows were dealt by Greg Bears horrendous Forerunner novels, but Halo 4 certainly doesn’t help matters.
And I’m so glad to see that someone else (namely, JeremieMay) recognises the abundance of abhorrent retcons that 343 is stuffing into the lore. The sooner Frank O’Connor is removed as the Halo “loremaster”, the sooner a more competent writer can start to retcon the retcons out of existence.
The canon is absolutely not broken, it makes perfect sense if you take the time to understand it.
The first terminal takes place at the beginning of the Human-Forerunner War. The Didact and Librarian’s character both change throughout the course of the war. The Bornstellar Didact is, presumably, not in any of the Halo 4 terminals. The Didact tries mutating himself later on because he becomes obsessed with stopping the Flood.
Did that answer your questions?

Okay i understand that because thats what i originally thought, but if the didact is trying to mutate himself to prevent infection from the flood then it has to be the bornstellar didact because by then he had already defeated lord of admirals…thats what i find a problem with. they leave out little things like that.
