Halo 4 Tells me my NAT is strict but....

I have an open NAT, I’ve never had a strict NAT setting and just to be sure I have always set my xbox up on a static IP with the xbox live ports forwarded. Is halo 4 telling fibs? Anyway to get around it? Or has something messed up with my connection.

happens to me too, i also have a static ip set up for my router and xbox with port forwarding through xbl. Halo 4 is the only game that has ever said anything other than ‘open’ since setting up my network a few years ago. however, it doesnt seem to cause me any issues other than that message saying its moderate. so i dunno…

Thanks I thought it was a bit odd.

Oddly enough, I’ve seen multiple profiles on the same Xbox display a different NAT status.

Seems like a glitch in the matrix system. I just thought my NAT was actually closed because it can take a long time to get a game set up, but I also read somewhere that the Matchmaking system tries to find the best possible match for you and that can cause slow waiting times.

Yes, up to a point. It tries to find an ideal match right out of the gate but lowers its standards after a predetermined amount of time.

How Matchmaking Works - A Basic Overview

Try unplugging your modem for 30 seconds then putting it all back together. See what it says after that.

Ah yes, I remember now.

I did it earlier and no change, no worries though I don’t think its affecting anything. It’s not like anyone talks in MM anyway.

I have an open NAT too, but Halo likes to say otherwise.
