The whole tag line for Halo 4, which was shown at the end of Halo 4 (An Ancient Evil Awakens) is being bashed on youtube. People are calling it cheesy, as well as most people are trolls, I find nothing cheesy about it.
What do you think?
KEEP IN MIND, I POSTED THIS TO ASK FOR YOUR OPINION ON THE TAG NOT ABOUT THE STORY, THE STORY WAS JUST SOMETHING I WANTED TO SHARE.
In all seriousness, it’s youtube. Go to almost any video on youtube and theres people fighting or mocking something. It means nothing to me. An accent evil will awaken november 6th. It’s as simple as that, I don’t see a point in bashing it. Buy the game or don’t all I can say for sure is im buying it.
I think it’s fine. It does seem like not much thought has gone into it, however it would be pretty hard to come up with a really good one for Halo 4. Any ideas for one anybody?

This. I’m sure people bash “Finish the fight” it’s equaly “bad” when it comes to inovation but it pretty much say what it need to say so why make something fancy.
I believe that the tag line is “Wake up, John.” and from that, I think it is pretty good. It pumps up your excitement and anticipation for the game, and the tag line can refer to the return of the Master Chief, and perhaps Halo taking back the throne.
That’s why I like it.
Anyways, I’m not sure what else they could have used. “Wake up, John” sounds like the best tag line for Halo 4 to me.
It’s whatever dude. None of the taglines were especially good anyways. If you were hyped for the game then they sounded awesome, if you weren’t then their effect was lost on you.
The only difference between now and then is that a lot of people were disappointed with Reach and are having trouble boarding the hype train for Halo 4.
Cause evil is a 2D word. Like in Halo 2, you got to play on the side of the Covenant to see their perspective, it shows that the Elites are not truly evil, they are just fighting for their cause and what they believe in. But when they say “Evil” Thats just a two denominational word, and dosent put much perspective on the threat, and it makes the story seem less dimensional.
People think a lot of true sayings are cheesy. “Ancient Evil Awakens” wasn’t first used by 343i, yet people still bash on it. It is simply a cliche’ such as, “Time is of the essence”, cheesy; yet true. No matter, internet trolls will always hate, Halo 4 will be mine on Nov. 6th. You best believe that!
The phrase “An ancient evil has awoken” had been a -Yoink!- meme long before that Halo 4 teaser. It was used to start threads about bad storytelling in games. This makes it look like 343 intentionally picked the worst tagline possible. It is extremely easy to make fun of.

Well, you can say the same about the flood.
they are not truly evil either, they do what is natural for them.
those people are idiots, but then, the internet is full with idiots freely able to express there idiocy and influence people into the same idiotic ways of thinking as they do, ah, gotta love it eh?
there is nothing wrong with the tag line, if anything it is actually very enticing, it really makes you wonder what that ancient evil causing you to play the game to find out.
