So has there been any announcement about True Skill Ranking System in Halo 4 Yet? Also is the SMG from Halo3 returning?

The True Skill is going to be better and greatly improved over Reach, but differant from Halo 3 as well. No, the SMG (as far as we know) is not returning to Halo 4, but we have an LMG which is like a thousand times better than having an underpowered SMG imo.

Well, they said soon they will do a similar video to the UNSC weapons for the Covenant weapons. Also, considering it was not shown in the video for UNSC weapons, we can assume the SMG is gone, but perhaps the Promethean sidearm is an SMG, who knows. A form of Trueskill is confirmed.
Next week they talk about specializations.So we might get some info on the ranking system then.

Yeah, who needs a weak, underpowered machine pistol that is only good when duel wielded, when we have a big butt LMG that can mow down enemies at lightning speed. It’s ordinance btw, so it’s considered a semi-power weapon/ power weapons.
No SMG in Halo.
Ranking system will affect the online experience and it is a so called invisible ranking system, meaning that you can’t see the rank of other players.
There is no chance of the SMG showing up in Halo 4. The only way I see it returning(which I hope it does) is as a secondary in Halo 5 and/or 6
the smg from halo 3 isnt returning. neither is the halo 2 smg. or the odst smg. It’s been replaced but the LMG
I love the SMG, and never liked using the AR. The LMG would be great in it’s stead, close enough. But I would still love to have a SMG as a secondary on my loadout, don’t wanna have to choose an AR or pistol to go with my DMR. A single wielded SMG worked better for me in H3 than an AR, personal preference. I’m not real clear on the details of the differences between the two, but SMG always fit my playstyle better. I loved the single wield only SMG in ODST. If 343i did confirm no SMG, I want a link. Otherwise, I’ll keep hoping.
