Halo 4 has sold 8.53m copies. Halo 2 sold 8.49m.
Congratulations 343. That’s an impressive record for your first blockbuster title, especially since Halo 2 is considered by many to be the best in the series.
Anyone want to show their appreciation?

This doesn’t really mean anything.
A new game pretty much every time outsolds an older version of the game.
Resident Evil 6 didn’t. In fact game sales have gone down a lot this year and game companies are finding it hard to match previous titles. That’s why the number of AAA games have fallen.

I assume, that the reason why RE6 didn’t outsell RE5, is because how big of a letdown RE5 was.
And Halo has always been that kind of game series that haven’t suffered from loss of sales, because of how great the series has been, until Reach and 4, of course.

Wasn’t Reach considered a letdown?

Yea, but since it was the last Halo game by Bungie, and how good Bungie made it look, alot of people thought it was going to be the best Halo game ever made. That’s why it sold so much.
Congrats to 343i.
Keep in mind that more than three times as many Xbox360 consoles have been sold than the original Xbox. Sad the ratio hasn’t stayed the same, take whatever you will from that.

No.
Well, big surprise. A great game sold quite a few copies.

And Halo 2 head more players in first 12 months, then halo 4… More then double… Halo 4 now have around 15 K…

Lol let’s not get over excited. Halo 4 is enjoying the success of previous Halo games, not its own. Thank Bungie.

Yes, beta was better than the real game

Reach’s campaign was great. The multi-player in Reach was so-so, in my opinion, but many people loved it. At the very least, you had some great maps for Big Team Battle and vehicle combat. Halo 4’'s campaign was so-so (robot bullet sponges) and the multi-player was bad enough that over 95% of the population stopped playing it within a year. Expect Halo 5 to sell more like RE6 than RE5.
Sorry to burst your bubble rage quitters but halo 5 will be amazing just like halo 4. Just because you cant take losing doesn’t mean the game is terrible.

Pretty much. I could name so many people who would have never bought Halo 4 had they had the chance to try it out beforehand. I fear to think how little Halo 5 will sell…
With a 5 year long wait for Halo 3’s successor, excess hype and promotion, price reductions, frequent tournaments, and an abundance of DLC… of course it was going to happen.
Big deal.
Reach’s vehicles are more paper like though.
Reach’s campaign broke canon, it compromised it, but it’s fixed now.
Halo 4 could be better, I hope they make some changes to make it better to hold it better until the next title.
Halo 5 will most likely sell well. Ms and 343 will market it well, though wether it’s a good game will be the real factor that keeps players.
Well hopefully they’ll learn things with halo 4.
I know they can get some not so very kind words on that subject. I was playing with bs angel yesterday and some people started trash talking her so that wasn’t nice.

I’m sure they also surpassed H2 in copies returned.
