Halo 4 - stuck "Searching..."

Help!

I’ve been playing Halo 4 with no issues, then on Sunday when I loaded the game it gets stuck “searching for downloadable content.”

I have cleared the cache, and reinstalled the game. Live is connected and there are no internet issues. I can even chat with the friend that I’m trying to play with, the game just will not load.

Can you please help?

Thank you!

Hi fudgepieworld21,

I have a few questions for clarification that would help us get to the bottom of this issue:

  • Have you run into this issue again since Sunday?
  • Which DLC map packs do you own?
  • When you say you, “reinstalled the game” do you also mean you deleted and reinstalled the DLC map packs that you own?

why don’t you people have a dlc playlist in war games on halo 4?

Hi Forum Team,

To answer your questions:
Have you run into this issue again since Sunday? Yes, every time I try it does this same thing

Which DLC map packs do you own? Castle map pack, Crimson map pack, majestic map pack, war games map pass (though they are now all deleted from my console)

When you say you, “reinstalled the game” do you also mean you deleted and reinstalled the DLC map packs that you own? I deleted all things Halo4, including all map packs and saved games. Then I reinstalled just the game using the install disc, and its still stuck on that same screen.

So upset I can’t play, what do i need to do next?

Any ideas? Please help!

Hi fudgiepieworld21,

Can you please attempt these steps for reinstalling the War Games Map Pass as well as included maps packs and see if that solves your issue?

  1. Go to Xbox.com
  2. Sign in with your Xbox Live account
  3. Click, “My Account”
  4. Click, “Manage Devices”
  5. Click, “See 360 Purchase History”
  6. Search for, “Infinity Actual Kit” click, “Add to Queue”
  7. Repeat step 6 for the “Crimson Map Pack”, “Majestic Map Pack” and, “Castle Map Pack”

While in the Xbox 360 Dashboard, hit the Guide button on your controller and navigate to the, “Games & Apps” blade to the left. Scroll down to, “Active Downloads” and press A. Once all 4 of those items have successfully downloaded, please attempt to play Halo 4 again.
