Halo 4 streaming from cloud to Windows

Here is the source Care to discuss your thoughts? I see this as a potential to link Xbox with the Windows 8 and Windows Phone platforms. Maybe for once pc, mobile, and console can all exist in happiness?

Interesting.

Playing halo 4 on my surface on the go maybe?

I would never stream a game. It means 24/7 internet connection and if ISP’s start going the route of pay per byte instead of subscription you’d be paying a ton to stream a simple game.

> I would never stream a game. It means 24/7 internet connection

Just means you need internet access in order to play it. So don’t buy a streamed game if you don’t have internet access. Just like I don’t buy PS3 games because I don’t own a PS3.

> and if ISP’s start going the route of pay per byte instead of subscription you’d be paying a ton to stream a simple game.

That will never happen. ISPs have tried that in the past and it’s failed miserably.

> you’d be paying a ton to stream a simple game.

So don’t stream games if you don’t have unlimited data.

Fixed.

You fixed nothing with snide remarks like that like I don’t know what I’m talking about.

I have high speed internet. Doesn’t mean I am ok with online always games. It also does not mean I have to agree with games that can be streamed as opposed to having a disc and being able to play it in an offline mode.

I love how in the comments section of that article people are talking about how much better having a downloaded copy is over a physical disk because it’s more convenient. Be that as it may I’d much rather go and pay 34.99 on Amazon for a brand new copy of GTA V than to pay the rip off amount Microsoft would charge to have that ‘convenience’

There’s a price for that convenience and it’s usually in the form of £50 GBP and I’ll be -Yoink!- if I’m paying £10 more than the RRP in my local stores.

Downloads may be the way of the future, but if they’re going to be charging extortionate prices for something only worth £30 then I think I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Also Vektor0, you could’ve worded that a little better so it didn’t seem like you were looking down on others who didn’t have such good internet. Just saying.
