I got a question! I know Halo 4 was completely made by 343i and all, but do you guys have any idea if they got the basic outline for the story from Bungie? I know bungie must have layed out the plan for a Halo 4 (BTW Reach was going to be Halo 4 at one point) and (the Halo 3 terminals and legendary ending hinted towards it). So do you think that 343 got the main idea of the story from Bungie?

Bungie quickly scraped their story summary as they originally just wanted it to end at 3. The ending was an intentional cliffhanger to allow us fans to wonder the possible fate of Chief than give a direct ending encase they ever decided to go back on it. Because for the most part, Bungie grew tired of making exclusively Halo games. But once Halo 4 went into planning by 343i, they used looked to the original script as inspiration, but overall they hardly reflect each other.
I base this theory on the French interview Frankie was in a couple of weeks ago.
Halo 4 does use a lot of the hidden stuff in past games, there is a switch in halo 2 with a picture of a forerunner hand that looks like a humans but with an extra thumb next to the pinky, the forerunner that is in the recent trailer has that type of hand.
Bungie was going to make halo 4 but they decided to create a prequel. It was in one of their vidocs if i remember correctly.

If they did, 343i changed a lot. Bungie originally intended for the Forerunners and humans to be the same for example.
