Halo 4 Still Leading the Charts in Pre-Orders

So about a month or two ago, someone brought up a thread showing the number of pre-orders Halo 4 had, and Halo 4 had a pretty decent lead. I’m happy to see that Halo 4 still holds its number 1 spot and almost has DOUBLE the number of pre-orders of Black Ops 2, and holds the lead with over 200000 more pre-orders above the second place game in pre-orders: Assassin’s Creed 3!

Pre-Order Chart

Not that pre-orders have anything to do with a game’s success but it’s great to still see Halo on top! I <3 you all! Hahaa. Okay maybe not all of you… :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t care, a great game is a great game regardless of sales.

I don’t think it will stay like this forever, Just look at the weekly change for BO2. It is catching up.

Well, VGCharts isn’t what you will call a reliable source but its good to get an idea of what is going on.

Halo 4 is doing well…

Compare with:
Reach.
Weeks to launch: 18*
+27,099 Increase
Total: 167,579

Halo 4.
Weeks to launch: 18
+22,708 Increase
Total: 454,068
Total decrease: -4,391*

*The week 18 before launch in the case of Reach, was the first week of the Beta; so Halo 4, is doing so well, without beta and even without marketing(not at all)

Is good to see CoD so down (MW3 at the same time have more of twice what BO2 has now)

How bad BO2 is doing:

MW3
Weeks to launch: 19
+71,700 Increase
Total: 409,840

UPS2… BO2:
Weeks to launch: 19
+36,379 Increasy
Total: 243,392

Week difference(between same week MW3 vs BO2): Decrease -35,321(the half)
Total difference: Decrease 162,448(40%)

> I don’t think it will stay like this forever, Just look at the weekly change for BO2. It is catching up.

Catch up? Yes. But will it gain the lead? No

Thanks for the number crunch lad. It’s looking good

I haven’t done the math so I hope you are right.

Basically this. As a fan, I care more about how good the game is, rather than how well it will sell.

I have to say that I’m way more excited for Black Ops 2 then I was(n’t) for MW3 or Black ops 1, even though I refuse to buy another CoD game full price it does seem like a definite change to the previous CoD games which is good considering its well CoD.

oh yeah and its good to see halo 4 doing so well, even though I’m sure it won’t outsell CoD I think halo 4 will be successful (money wise)

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Halo 4 is currently crushing CoD in pre-orders… Just pre-orders. I don’t even usually pre-order games because I know the chances of games running out of stock on shelves is unlikely.

Think of how many people will just buy Halo 4 without pre-ordering? A LOT. CoD will surely sell a chunk of its sales here also, but looking at the positive numbers Halo 4 is putting out, Halo 4 is bound to out sale.

every big halo game has all ways beat call of duty in pre order’s on VGChartz this is really nothing new

Call of duty is catching up, assassins creed doesn’t seem to be too much of a contestant, hopefully the trailer for forward unto dawn will help, after that, pax prime is long away so there might be a period where the weekly diminishes. Hm, September might be wavey and October might have the highest.

I honestly couldn’t care less who outsells who, left 4 dead 1 wasn’t the highest sold game the year it was released and to be honest that was by far one of the best I ever played so saying that the sells are oh so signifigant is kind of a joke.

as for halo outselling CoD, well even though its unlikely (given the last few years) I have to say that would be great, what I was saying was that Black ops 2 looked actually interesting and at some point I might buy it.

black ops 2 doesn’t interest me because of its pre-orders or anything like that, it interests me because 1. its not just a copy of a pre-existing war and 2. it has some actually innovative things in it (strike force missions).
