Hey everybody, Silent here!
After having tried spring jumpin for hours, and finally getting it down pat, I’ve decided to create a thread over here regarding useful spring jumps.
For those wondering: What is a Spring jump?
Well, a spring jump is a jumping technique in Halo 4 and reach that allows you to jump a great deal higher than a regular jump, or a crouch jump.
How is it performed?
Step one: Find a ledge/area that you can’t jump on top of by regular jumping/crouch jumping (IE, the walls over looking the center on haven [hallways])
Step 2: Jump into the air, and crouch midflight.
Step 3: Continue to hold crouch as you hit the ground. Do NOT let go yet.
Step 4: Release crouch and jump at the EXACT same time. (Do be warned, this is quite difficult, as one tends to let go of crouch first or jump first in these situations.)
If done correctly, you should see yourself jump much higher than normal (very noticable higher.) And if you are standing by the low point in the hallway wall on Haven, you should be able to make it up.
How is this useful?
Spots on a lot of the maps (such as the spot I gave on Haven) are designed around this feature (I am now assuming it is a feature, given the amount of spots I have found regarding this technique.) for quick movement.
I’ve used it very successfully on a rock on complex (scoring myself a very ninja kill) and on many, many spots on Haven (earning a lot of kills that I would not have normally gotten.
Notes: In the next post I will give a list of all the places I’ve found on various maps (which isn’t many, as I’ve only just got the game.)
In the replies, give your opinion on this jumping method, whether or not you find it useful, and give more spots that you’ve found using this tactic.
Keep on jumping!
