The halo soundtrack was the only thing that was never let down in any of the halo games. and that was because of Martin O’ Donell! When A soundtrack from something else comes in. its not as good.
Halo Wars - I thought only some of the tunes were good.
Halo legends - Half of it sounded like a slow school band. Best tracks were Sacred Icon Suite 2 and Machine and Might.
80% of what Martin O’ Donell made was truly epic (in my opinion)
SO FAR, The halo 4 soundtrack from the directors-cut and original trailer sounds a bit like portal 2 and basic film music. STILL pretty good but not exciting enough. Hence why having Martin O’ Donell for the music directer for halo 4 would make this halo feel 5x more to a true halo. Yes, the music composer of metal gear solid is pretty good but Martin O’ Donell is probably the best at making TRUE halo music.
Please. Let Martin O’ Donell do at least a bit of composing for the next halo title!
Marty works with Bungie Studios, not 343 industries. There’s legal reasons why he can’t work on Halo. Plus I’m sure that Sotaro Tojima will make some epic Halo music of his own. The concept art trailer sounded epic, can’t wait to hear more from Sotaro.
Plus, Marty has been working on Halo for the last ten years, we should let him have the chance to make another video game series have that epic touch that Halo has always been blessed with.
Vic Deleon (level artist at 343i) said Marty approves of the new composer for Halo Triology Reclaimer

The thing is, Marty already said he didn’t want to do it, he wanted a break from composing halo music, and as much as i love his music, i can’t say that i blame him, doing the same thing for 9+ years can be a little tiring.
it can, but the new symphony is good enough, the only way they can hurt the series is by randomly throwing elements from other sci fi movies, and i doubt that would happen.
