Here is my early remix. It’s kinda meh but I’ll either be messing with it a bit more or doing a different track completely.
Does anyone here actually plan on entering? If I can find some of my old mixing software and get my mixer hooked up to my desktop you can bet that I’ll be in on this. I know for a fact I’ll lose but I’ll be in on it.

I’m having a hard time figuring out which one I want to do. I’m probably going to do To Galaxy. Don’t really know what style but I’m thinking a trance remix. I’m more excited to see what others come up with.

Yeah same here, I’m toying with the idea of drumstep with a moombahcore breakdown at some point. I was having a hard time deciding between awakening and Nemises but, it had such a grand dark ominous feel to it so I had to go for it.I’ll look out for your stuff man ^ ^, I also can’t wait to see what creativity people have up their sleeves.

btw I have a rough copy of a static drumbeat version of To Galaxy. It’s not really that good yet it’s really beat griddy at the moment. I hope I can get it to sound presentable…

I’m glad to see people are participating in this. I have an Alesis Micron and a nice little behringer mixing kit. My only problem is at the moment the cable(can’t remember what it’s called) that connects the mixer to my PC is missing. If I can’t find it then I’m not going to be able to add my own flavor to the track I’m remixing and I’m going to be upset… 
Either way I am actually extremely pumped to see what others get out the door. I would love to hear say… A happy hardcore version of Nemesis.

^^ Nice bro. Alesis are pretty nice =] I go to the LA recording School and they have an SSL 9000. Might mix it there to try and get that analog warmth everyone is so crazy about. I probably won’t win either, but it seems like a great “fan contest” for us Halo fan/Music producers out there.
Btw, people should post there work in progresses in here. Anyone know when this thing ends?

It’s just a little simpler than this remix that I did. It’s pretty much all beatgrid and a little phaser.

Not sure, but hopefully they give us a bit more then a month, that might be pushing it but meh. And once I get something up and running Ill create a thread for all of us remixing to hear eachothers work and maybe get the community to vote for which ones they like.

I’ve sent a link to that to my good friend who’s a 8Bit Artist back in New York, who also has worked with 343i in the past.
Halo’s music was the very thing that created and shaped the feelings i have towards the game, its the very thing that created the mystery, curiosity and other feelings i had towards the story. And i loved halo’s music very much, it was my favorite thing along with the story itself in the games.
But now the music is becoming the very thing i hate the most about halo 4, no more feelings of mystery and curiosity. I was hoping that i would have new feelings that i would love through the new music.
I know the remixes wont be in the game but im referring to the OST’s.
I seen people uploading their already I just figured whatever I’ll upload an early shifty sounding one to. I’m in mid-process of upload.

Wow man, I’m jealous you have some equipment, I’m pretty underage but ill still be entering the contest, I’ve been trying to get my hands on a launchpad or maybe a mikro for a while they would help a crapton with this but I spent the last of my money on the LE of Halo 4 and the next set will be going to a gaming computer, because it’s becoming kind of hard to produce on this crappy laptop.

I’d suggest getting a KORG. Alesis is really nice but it’s difficult to make your own sounds in the sound bank. KORG is also easier to deal in nearly every other aspect.
Guys, the site also has the full final versions of Revival and To Galaxy!
Sadly I lack remixing skillz.
