This is probably going to seem like a picky suggestion, but, from the little machinima-like video recently released, the sniper scope is, well, cluttered. The two hashes next to the reticle should be removed for aiming clarity.
The same problem existed in Reach with the non-functioning (only occurred if reload canceling) bloom animation in Reach. It detracts from the focus on the actual reticle and clouds aiming to some degree. I’m not sure if this is necessary for cannon, but from a multiplayer perspective, it detracts from the ability to aim.
The Snipers of the game are the ones who are not going to like this. Of course the casuals are going to like it because the enjoy anything that the game designers spoon feed them, such is a few responses in this thread already.
i have never had a issue with it all but i can say the halo one sniper is still by far my favorite and i really like what they did with it in Halo CEA and god the sound of it when you shoot the damn thing its beast that’s one thing i cant wait for is the sound of HALO 4 sound adds so much to a game its a small thing but with so man drastic changes a sound can make you fire a weapon differently of pick it up because it sounds badass
For the most part, the sniper scope is really good. Not too different from previous incarnations, but feels “up-to-date”. My only issues are those 2 quarter-circle curves surrounding the reticle.

It’s not going to cause problems if you’re any good. You’re being way too picky here.
It looks pretty futuristic. But if all that stuff is in the way it is going to become very hard to snipe. If they take away the quarter circles and a few other things it would be fine.
