Hey guys, as many of you will know, it is very annoying if you’re like flying in a banshee and you get shot about 5 times by a sniper and explode.
I really think 343Industries should not do this with the sniper in Halo 4 because a sniper is actually invented and should only kill infantry at long range, not vehicles.
The sniper rife in Halo has always been an anti-materiel weapon, meaning that it is actually designed for use against vehicles, with infantry being a secondary target. Canonically the sniper SHOULD be effective against vehicles AND infantry.
I would not say that the sniper is the problem here, since the banshee is a bit too powerful as it is. The real problem is that the Elites in Invasion do not have a comparable weapon to take down a jacked banshee.
Yeah I gotta agree with you on that. It gets pretty annoying when you just get the banshee, take off, start getting shot at, and explode. I’m not the biggest fan of sniping but I would prefer in Halo 4 the sniper rifle to be like the Halo 3 model, VERY effective against infantry but does almost nothing to vehicles.
It wasn’t just the sniper that was known as the vehicle destroyer (that’s also Caboose’s title). The vehicles in Reach were almost literally made of paper mache.
I dont think snipers should destroy vehicles as easily. But in reach it didn’t bother me because on most maps with heavy vehicle traffic there was no spartan laser. I wouldn’t mind the sniper going back to anti infantry if 343i puts the spartan laser back on the mpas more frequently.
