Halo 4 SMG scrapped?

I have a stupid question, and i was wondering if someone may know the answer.

Im not here to -Yoink- about halo 4, i just have a question.

Since 343 originaly was going to include dual weild in the game, does that mean that the SMG would have been added as well, And possible since they scrapped dual wield, did they scrap the SMG as well?

I know you may think that there is no point of SMG if there is no dual wield, but wouldnt there be a point since it wont be to under or over powered since dual wield was taken away? Im sure the magnum and plasma pistol cant be the only secondary?

There are also rumors that the “assault carbine” is the new SMG, but others believe it was the placeholder name of the “storm rifle”

If there is anyone who could give me an answer, i very much appreciate it. :slight_smile:

Good question OP, I was actually wondering about the SMG myself. We wont really know anything until they confirm more weapons later down the road

If it’s even in halo 4 I doubt its going to be a secondary weapon because secondaries are supposed to be last ditch gotta swap weapon to kill this guy kinda gun, and if someone pulls out a SMG after running out of primary they could get another two kills lol.

Its a pretty useless weapon when you think about but I guess it would be in judging by the amount of weapon they say are in

The alleged forerunner sidearm looks like it could be the SMG replacement. If so, it would round out the sidearm spectrum nicely.

Didn’t they confirm no SMG at Comic-Con, E3 or RTX?
