Halo 4 should look more like halo 3 than reach

By technical power, the engine of the game should work better than reach, but i want halo 4 to be bright and sunny and colourful like halo 3 was rather than reaches dull muddy colours.

I find that hemmorage looks terrible in it’s gross dead grey-green grass and mud puddles compared to halo 1’s lush greens, bright sky and orange canyon walls

umm… blood gulch was… nervermind.

I’d like a combination of Halo 3’s graphics, Halo: Reach’s graphics, and yes, MW3’s graphics.

Or, ya know, we could always have the more detailed reach thats much brighter and more colorful like halo 3?

Give me Halo Anniversary’s graphics and I’ll be perfectly happy. If I would have to pick another game for Halo 4 to mimic, I’d say Saints Row the Third. Great lighting, great aesthetic effects, and a very colorful world.

I want Halo 4 to have the graphical feel Halo 3 did, but generally, mood wise, have the areas be dark and enigmatic, since this is a crazy derelict place MC is supposed to be in.

I like Reach, the graphics are great, but it seem like the forced grit of the graphics follow you wherever you go, even to the most pretty of maps like Tempest.

Guy who can barely tell the difference between MW2/Black Ops graphics and MW3’s graphics says what?

What.

I’d like to see Reach’s graphics transfer over to Halo 4, after running through ODST/3 again I have to say that I’ve grown rather fond of/accustomed to the upgrade.

Did you mention COD on a Halo site? prepare for the worst.

OT: Definitely I would like to see H4 as Reach’s graphics, if not better.

If I could pick another I would pick ummm…

…Crysis with a Halo style of art and more colour!

I would expect it to look more like halo 3 than reach. Reach was designed with the full intention of having gloom and doom ooze out the walls. Halo 4 has been marketed by Frankie to bring back the nostalgic feelings of unknown exploration of Halo 1. If they make this unknown exploration dull and sad, well that’s just wrong. I expect it to have a closer feel to those lush greens on Blood Gulch

I literally just laughed out loud.

There’s a difference between graphics, lighting, and color.

Graphics–detail of objects. For example, H3 had mostly flat armor pieces where Reach has much minor detail in them. What’s this? Another example?? H3 trees vs Reach (Tempest) trees. I would also consider animations (standing to crouch to jump, etc) part of graphics.

Lighting–how the light plays off of the virtual surfaces. In Reach, the lighting is very precise–it reflects right where it should be reflecting in real life. In H3, lighting was brilliant–you could be blinded by light shining off of something, or at least be forced to marvel at the strange beauty of a Golden Brute in a jungle. An example of blinding? Climbing out of belly of Scarab onto the deck.

Colors–the tone of the colors in the virtual world; Reach has a very dark tone and H3 had a very bright tone.

I personally want Reach Graphics, the precision of Reach’s lighting and the brilliance of H3’s, and the colors of H3.

Halo 3 in my opinion was the best halo game. When reach came out, tons of halo players hated it and lost the love for halo. It didn’t make any sense, they added all the AA’s which made the game horrible, it made no sense because halo reach was before halo 3, and in halo 3 there was no AA’s. It felt like time was all messed up with the even more advanced technology in reach. I believe halo 4 should stay like halo 3 without all the non needed things like bloom no ranking system and all the stupid Armour abilities that ruined halo. Personally when reach came out, I lost the love I once had for the halo game. That is just my opinion.

I hope 343i sticks to what they said and give us a fresh take on Halo, meaning it shouldnt look too much like any of the past games

^^^^ AND REACH WAS AWESOME

HALO 2 + REACH

I think Reach graphics are better then Halo 3’s, maybe they should use a different new engine

I recently just seen a Halo 2 vista montage on youtube awhile ago just about an hour ago today lol, And i must say, Coagulation just looks so… Colorful! not only that, but what you described above, grass is green and orange canyon walls AND Bright blue sky! it was… it was a perfect stage…

Halo3 was the prettiest, all my bishes agree

That’s because Reach was a technological planet. At the end of the campaign when the Covenant glasses it, they lose most of that technology which is why it isn’t in the first trilogy. Also i liked the detail that Reach had but would love to see more color like H3.

I don’t know. The DLC maps with Reach’s engine look beautiful Ridgeline, Tempest and High Noon just to name a few
