Kinda of like this!

Halo wars cut scenes made it feel like war! i would like 343 to make a halo with a war and destruction feel like halo wars!
I like halo’s perfect enviroments…I’d rather have a perfect structure than a war-torn one…
Agreed this isn’t battlefield or cod, I want enviroments that are open, mysterious and alien like.
I’m pretty sure they could do all that, while it still feeling like an actual war. I’ve always wanted Halo to feel like a war, not like COD, a little more like Battlefield. But, of course, with all the sense of mystery and aliens, and structures and stuff.
How does that copy CoD? or battlefield?
They should still keep those small Close quarters levels…
But on maps where your doing a warthog run I really hope i get to see 40 or 50 groups of enemies, or if your in a scropion, LOADS of ghosts everwhere.
I agree, but one problem, for Halo4 it should all look like beautiful ancient Halo style areas, just like Halo1 only maybe even nicer because Chief is currently alone, then with Halo5 and 6 should be hard core war like in that trailer.
I didn’t mean like exatly like cod. Like an other thread stated halo reach felt to grity to mean because of the yuck colors and scenary. Ex: boneyard looks freakin ugly. The scenary and graphics should be like in halo 3.

I think you missed the entire point of the thread…
I’d rather Halo stay away from the war-torn gritty environments and stick with the smooth clean look we get in Halo 2 and 3.
damn. Seeing that intro made me want a 64 player battlefield type Halo game where you play as infantry soldiers
Maybe one of the spin offs.
Maybe on one level but thats it.
With Halo 4 I think the colour pallete should be a bit like both Halo Reach and Halo 3. In Halo 3 the natural enviroments looked fantastic. To this day I think the South African forest in the first level of Halo 3 by far looks most natural. However in Halo 3 UNSC bases and buildings looked fake and completly out of place. The opposite is true for Halo Reach. In Halo Reach the natural enviroments looked bland whereas the buildings looked how I would expect to see UNSC bases.
I loved seeing the damage to the buildings, the computer panels scorched by plasma and wall panels hanging off the wall. Something about that made the game feel more believable. However Halo has always been about huge beautiful vistas, the natural enviroments being colourful and bright, thats something you would expect to see in a rainforest or any other natural enviroment.
To sum up, I think for buildings and structures (excluding Forerunner) they should follow Reach’s design and show the damage and look damaged and war torn and for natural enviroments they should be more like Halo 3 with more colourful and crisp scenary. As for Forerunner structures they should follow Halo 3’s example and look clean and crisp. Forerunner structures are designed to stand the test of time and are meant to withstand weapons fire etc.
nah we realy dont need war stuff. plus that would be another step closer to being cod (im not a hater) and we dont want halo to be cod(once again im not a hater).
I don’t want either a gritty or a light hearted campaign. I would rather the Halo 4 have an eerie atmosphere and have the feeling that I am isolated and in an alien environment. Destructive or barren environments could be very effective in my opinion in creating this. However, I don’t want a “military-style campaign” either.

halo 2 had war-torn environments in it… All the levels on Earth? even the arbiter levels on Delta Halo. Sure I want breathtaking environments with awe and beauty, but I also want environments that are gritty, war-torn, and scorched, because Halo is a fps, therefore it wouldn’t make sense with only Forge world looking maps. War directly affects landscape, and whether you all remember it or not, War-torn environments have been apart of ALL halo games, not just Reach.
Well, at least Halo 4 will have destructable environments like battlefield. You will be able to destroy buildings, walls and such.
Basically I want a mix between 343 Guilty Spark and what was shown in the Starry Night Trailer for Halo 3, which was a desolate, war torn environment

This.
…But Halo 4 is the beginning to something new…
You’re thrust into a new, alien, ancient environment… Alone. How could that be a war?
If you want war, go play CoD, Battlefield, or Medal of Honor. There’s a bunch of alternatives, leave Halo the way it is.

Well said.
