That lvl still make’s me all tense 10 yrs on even when i know whats coming…

I Agree, Halo 1 had good tension. Even ODST is somewhat scary when you dont use the HUD so its pitch black.
Halo 4 looks like its mostly about being alone so its very possible

Well, Halo 4 is the perfect place to build tension from the beginning of the game, considering we don’t know what we are going to be fighting. The perfect way to do that, in my mind, would be to hold off on combat for a good portion of the first mission, to allow us to explore, and make us wonder what might be around the next corner. I’d, personally, set the level during dawn or twilight, allowing us to see, if only just.

Precursors. Nuff said.

Make it scary all you want, but don’t you mess with my grunts speaking the vernacular! Yoink you, Bungie!

Dinosaurs would definitely help to make it scarier.

I think some parts should be scary(er), some should have more tension. Halo was so successful `cuz it was a mix of everything. That also means: some parts should be more relaxed and some realy unscary.

It´s the mix*! Don´t you think?

*Explaining what I mean with mix here exactly… that would fill 2-3 sides. So I skip that. 8D

They should really take advantage of the flashlight more like most survival horror franchises do.

One of the most tense moments in CE I’ve ever had was my first play on the Maw when I was walking through those pitch-black claustrophobic tunnels when my flashlight ran out, then I heard a noise, began tapping my flashlight button repeatedly until it finally came back on, and there a Flood stood inches from me, engulfing my entire screen (as well as my pants).

Good times. I want something like that again. (Not in my pants this time…well…maybe)

> If there is a new enemy in the Reclaimer trilogy, it’d most likely be something like the Precursor(s). So yes, I do believe there should be tension in Halo 4 when it comes to the Precursor(s). Like 343 Guilty Spark in Halo: CE.

In the game? What?
