Halo 4 Sgt. Johnson easter egg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gEwGrseLNY&feature=plcp Here’s the link

Let me elaborate. In the beginning of the mission Shutdown on Halo 4 you walk into a large room full of marines and the new spartan IVs. Begin killing all marines and spartan IVs. Once most are killed a deadly marine will spawn. It is Sgt. Johnson. He spawns when almost all marines and spartan’s are killed and is very powerful. He carries a shotgun and can kill with 1-2 shots from a decent distance. Its no coincidence that he spawns last and carries a shotgun just like Sgt. Johnson.

It’s not Johnson. Good try though. I wonder if there’s an easter egg or something for clearing the whole room on Legendary?

Face

That’s not Johnson, sorry… MAYBE a montage to him, or just a clean-up marine.

Here’s Johnson

Maybe its not johnson but its obviously a reference to him

I don’t really see it as Johnson or being reference to him in any way. It just seems like a significantly younger black man with some stubble.

> Maybe its not johnson but its obviously a reference to him

does this doppleganer say anything while he spawns and trying to kill you?

Clearly not Johnson…

That face model can be randomly found on personnel wearing the fleet uniform, and inversely some of the dead bodies in the swamps of the Infinity level can be found wearing that Sergeant’s uniform but with a variety of different heads.

Ow, my ears…

Don’t think it’s Johnson though…

> Maybe its not johnson but its obviously a reference to him

How is it “obviously a reference”? If anything that sounds incredibly racist to assume that any black man in a sgt’s uniform is a nod to Johnson rather than it being its own character. There were other black marines aside from Johnson both named and unnamed throughout Halo 2 to now.

lol. Racist 12 year-olds think that any black man is Sgt. Johnson.

We tested it quite a few times and he doesnt seem to say anything to important. But the way he spawns is just to weird. Cause he seems to be the only marine with that specific configuration.

> lol. Racist 12 year-olds think that any black man is Sgt. Johnson.

So he’s racist because he found a character that has all the Johnson characteristics?
Nice one dude…not.

> > lol. Racist 12 year-olds think that any black man is Sgt. Johnson.

> a character that has all the Johnson characteristics?

No he doesnt. He literally lacks all the things that separated Johnson from any random black, marine sergeant with a shotty. Making him…a random black, marine sergeant with a shotty.

Similar cap to what we’ve seen Johnson wear.
Similar chestpiece as we’ve seen Johnson wear.
Carrying a shotty…just as we’ve seen Johnson prefer quite often
Similar facial characteristics as Johnson…esspecially considering every character getting a visual overhaul under 343i’s reign.
Spawns amidst a bunch of Spartans…why would a random single marine spawn during that, while looking the same every single time? Not to mention him spawning amongst Spartans could be a link to Johnson’s own Spartan past…

I’m not saying it IS in fact Johnson. I’m saying it is similar enough to him to might be him.

And no: there was nothing racist about what they’re thinking/saying.

Well, this proved it can be fun to betray.

As for my point about it looking nothing like him

Saying it’s Johnson, or even a reference to Johnson, is a major stretch.

It’s not Johnson. The facial characteristics and lack of vocal similarities indicate that is isn’t him, unfortunately. But I do think Johnson should have appeared in some form of easter egg, David Sculley’s outtakes practically called for it.

Plus Johnson carries a sniper.
