Why does no one ever bring up the main problem with halo 4.
The servers and connections
these tings are by far the worst of any game i personally have encountered ever and i just dont understand why they are so bad i have been playing Reach because of it being free and i have no problems at all does anyone else agree that this seriously needs to be fixed in any future iterations of halo?
It’s not just Halo 4, it’s every game with peer to peer networking and it all depends on the host. Luckily in MCC all will have dedicated servers. IT’s rather inexcusable that after 2002 ALL games didn’t have them, especially the flagship game for the Xbox, luckily the Xbox One is fixing that. Of course it’s worse with Halo 4 because the graphics are much more advanced. The 360 has reached its limit.
It’s specially H4 that has BAD connections. All other Halo games (with host) were just fine (not perfect of course, but not game breaking). Halo 4 is truly terrible with connection. And supporting playlists. And DLC. And achievement glitches. Etc.
Dedicated servers will help most of the above issues, thankfully. Now to see if MCC, Halo 5 and beyond will be supported post launch. So far, so (not) good.
Mostly all games will or have experienced server issues. It can be really difficult for companies to maintain a “healthy” server for the majority of players.

How does graphics affect connection quality?

I think most of the connection problems can be attributed to a low population. Matchmaking struggles to find people from the same region so you end up matching foreigners off host more than usual. Your experience is far better in Reach because it’s currently free and the population surge is helping to consistently connect players from their own region.

It doesn’t, but it can effect gaming performance. For example, if a game, map, mission/level in most games have high graphics then the game might run slower. This is most common with PC games, but if your PC specs don’t reach the requirements of a specific game then you could also try changing your graphics card settings(Or purchase a better graphics card). You can also buy a better processor if possible.
High Graphics + “Bad” PC = Minimal performance.
As for consoles, many game companies usually release their games to match a specific console’s specs. Meaning that, for example, if an Xbox 360 can’t handle a specific requirement, then they will downgrade the quality. But your right, graphics do not effect connection quality, although they can effect gaming performance. I can’t tell all of the details because there are many more factors that can cause a slow running game(More than I can list).

Requires more processing power which puts and even larger strain on connections.
