In the first 3 seasons of LOST, the survivors of the plane crash were mainly figuring out how to survive together on an island and dealing with it’s strangeness and the Others, the hostile group on the island. The first 3 seasons had some mythology references, and some references to the bigger picture/conflict, but mainly focused on the Others. This bigger picture/conflict became much more crucial in seasons 4-6. There were two divine, powerful forces pitted against each other on the island; one, the good, even brought the survivors of the plane crash to the island. Sounds an awful lot like some “extinct” species we’ve heard of…
Now to Halo: For the 1st 3 games, you’re mainly exploring the world of Halo and getting used to it(player or character), being a strange, alien world. There’s a main conflict, against the Covenant and Flood, but also sprinkles of a deeper conflict and deeper mythology. Now we move on to the 2nd trilogy, games 4-6. These are looking to be way more mythology based, with the storyline seemingly going from the sprinkles of information about the bigger picture from the books and 1st trilogy. There’s Forerunners, Precursors, Origins of Flood, Ancient Humans, and maybe even more.
You see where I’m getting at? Maybe I’m just crazy. I’m not saying 343i is copying LOST, by the way; I just think it’s a nice coincidence, or something.I’m a huge fan of both stories, so I just noticed the connection.
I love the LOST series and I’m glad there’s a fan on these forums.
I’m sure the LOST writers didn’t invent this pattern. I think Halo was always heading in this direction. The forerunners are such and interesting race and seeing them purely architecture they left behind was great storytelling on Bungie’s part. Seeing the forerunners in action will definitely give us that LOST season 4-6 feeling but like LOST, it coming to this point I think was inevitable. Too much is not addressed at the end of Halo 3 and I personally always wanted to see a meeting of the Master Chief and the forerunners.
When it comes to the Reclaimer Triology I actually think that halo would turn out like the original star wars triology or atleast I hope because it would make for a good story line
Episode 4/ Halo 4- a start to the new universe and explaining things and at the end a major triumph for the good guys ending in a big celebration and the bad guys start to get mad
Episode 5/ Halo 5- after a major triumph for the good guys possibly the enemies get there revenge and the movie finnishes with a sad part of the series and ending with a cliffhanger
Episode 6/ Halo 6- when the good guys re-form they start planning for a counter attack to finally end the enemies evil reign and saving many people ending with another big celebration as again the bad guys get mad

Yeah, I see what you mean.
A lot of stories I know have done that, too, except for, like, the new Batman trilogy, Harry Potter, those are all I can think of.
