It is no longer a place to get information or discuss the uncoming game. It has been hijacked by players demanding it to be made in their own image. Name calling, flame baiting, community dividing, unconstructive, one sided hatefilled posts/threads.
Why are people letting this happen?
You have the power to end it all by locking it, the first 10 pages of threads are now the same.
Dont try to argue that the forum for getting feedback, where the entitled are now the only ones who can speak, opinions are no longer being shared, hostile demands have taken over.
I know i cant be the only one seeing whats going on in there.
The posts you are referring to are not breaking rules, locking the Halo 4 section will just allow the topics to be spilled to other sections which will will just make it worse.
Keeping it contained into one section is easier to enforce rules being broken and appropriate action will be taken.

You know as well as i do, that it is out of control. Very little is being done to curb it.

If you think they are out of control, report posts that violate the rules and let the moderators decide if action is needed or not.

I just want to get information or have light hearted conversations about the upcoming game, every thread is the same. I would spend all day reporting threads.

Yes, but think of it this way, all of the -Yoink- is being contained with in that forum board, you lock the whole forum board for Halo 4, and the -Yoink- will start filling up in other forum boards, like in this forum board, yes I would love some one to put a stop to all of this BS that happens in that forum board, but it’s apart of the general Halo community, a bunch of whining -Yoinking!- kids who do nothing but whine, and bicker.

Then continue to report the topics you see as violating, there are plenty of topics for just a general chat about Halo 4 but people don’t want to discuss it as much until they get a lot more information.

Its called locking threads and banning members who spam other forums, there are about 20mods on here, be serious here people. Halo 4 threads in other sections could be managed. Look at the front page, THEY ARE ATTACKING CASUALS IN ALMOST EVERY THREAD. That is against the rules.
Casuals get out, yoink casuals, need to chill, wth, is going on in there.
I sent one of IRL buddies to these forums last nite, he left after reading only four threads. He thought he was a brawl hall. He said, and i quote," i have never seen so much hating and negativity in a forum section about a game that no one knows anything about, i will never go back there."
That is terrible that someone could come here and not even register an account because of what they have seen in there.

Agreed, what little I want to chat about when it comes to Halo 4 related stuff, I do it on another forum that doesn’t have the out of control general Halo community members on it. All I really do here is report, and reply to a few threads here and there that warrant my reply.

Ok, you think I don’t know that? I’ve been on a few forum boards for a few years now, so I think I have an idea what mods do, and how to control spam, I am TSL’s leading spam bot killer. But locking down the Halo 4 forum board isn’t the way to do thing, you see a thread that is against the rules, go in, report the opening post, and any posts after words that are against the rules, and one or more of those 20 mods and admins will deal with the problem. It’s better to leave the forum board open and let the little kids hate each other in one forum board, because it’s easier for mods to go from one thread to another if they’re in one forum board.

Oh I’ve seen worst, not as much hate, but I have seen worst things to cause people to avoid registering an account. But like I said before, this is the general Halo community, some of moved here from the Bungie forums because Bungie is no longer the people in charge of Halo, granted there are some who are good people, but most of the kids who came here who are mucking up the Halo 4 forum board right now just need a bullet in their heads.
I disagree. I enjoy going over there and seeing people’s ideas. Things get heated but people are passionate about Halo 4 at least and that is a good thing if you ask me. There is also sometimes new intel about Halo 4 so I wouldn’t be for closing it down.

I love the moderators, they do their job! And i have seen Moa around a lot
Interesting…

You and i go back, from the beta days and the defiant giveaway thread, you can’t say that things have gone down hill slighty since those days. It is undeniable the difference between heated and hatred. There is more hate than heat right now. I get it, you can have a civil level headed conversation, but its tough when almost every thread you go into is a complaint. Now, i am not telling anyone on how to do their job, but if i may suggest that it is kept clean, then new/old members wouldn’t be on the defense for every subject in there.

This is a Halo forum, that will never happen prior to and after a game is released.

Plenty of us go back to those days, but that entitles us to nothing. There are more people, opinions, and voices–all of them unique. Everyone has a passion for the game, and everyone should be able to voice that passion. To me, (just to me) so what if there are 1,000 sprint threads. What I see is there are that many people who care enough to say something. I’ll take the activity, arguing and the conversation over Pleasantville. Hate to me is fine. People can be closed-minded about certain things, and knee-jerk reactions are to be expected.
it is up to you and I, as elder statesmen, if you will, to show just what kind of a community this is. Not to shun people, tell them things were better before they arrived, or hold ourselves higher than the rest. (I’m not saying you or anyone is doing this, just making a point).

I know things have changed a lot but the same structure that made this place great back then is still in place now. It is still making this a great place to discuss Halo in my mind. Somethings may not happen as fast as we like but these forums are geared toward discussions and not personal attacks/hatred of one another. That was/is one of the main reasons I enjoy coming here.
