When I went to pick up my pre-order copy of Halo 4, the cashier asked if I wanted to buy the season pass for $24. I bought it and would like to know if I would also get the maps that are soon to release. Thanks.

Yea you have access to the new Maps as soon as they release.
As others have said, you gain access to the Crimson, Majestic (soon), and future Castle map pack (it’s “Castle”, right?) when they are released. Just remember to get them from the in-game marketplace and not the dashboard marketplace
