Even though Reach split the fan base i feel that most halo fans are giving Halo 4 a chance because most feel it wont be like Reach. What it will be is a upgraded Halo 3 with some new features and a better equipment or AA system. So its bound to have great sales.
Is that as insane as I think it is?

Not really surprised. Casuals will by any big title game. The real question is how long will they keep playing when it is out? What is the gameplay like?

Haha, because 100,000 is such a large number in terms of pre-ordered sales let’s all rejoice in this thread and celebrate the revival of Halo.
Erm, no. This absolutely means nothing. If the beta for Halo 4 is as terrible as the beta for Reach was then expect less sales of the game than Reach. And slowly the franchise will disintegrate.
Pretty pessimistic, I know. But that will happen if the game is as subpar as Reach was. Halo 4 cannot have Armor Abilities. That and bloom were the two largest mistakes by the ill fated company known as Bungie.
Not even thinking about per-ordering it till I see some gameplay.
