On the Halo 4 FFA FAQ posted today, it said that we could register online or register in person for the RTX FFA. How do we register online (I’m assuming that registering for the online tournament is different than registering for the RTX tournament)?
I registered there; is that for the in-person event as well as the online one?
Online. If you can make it in person, do so! I registered for Online.
> Online. If you can make it in person, do so! I registered for Online.
That’s what I thought, but in the FAQ it says:
Attend RTX: We’ll be holding a live tournament during this year’s Rooster Teeth Expo (RTX) in Austin, Texas. There will be limited slots to participate so be sure to register online or show up early on Friday to secure one of the walk up registration slots.
It says I can register online to secure a live FFA spot if I’m not mistaken.
I think it’s once you register, and if you show up in person, you may need to select online or in person registry. I’m I’m not mistaking they might have a In Person section for sign ups. Who knows! I need to practice my FFA skills… I’m a bit rusty with the BR… after trying to master the AR and other weapons too… Damn

Alright well I will show up early on Friday just to be safe.
If you want to message me on Xbox we can play Rumble Pit today. My gamertag is the same as my username.
Same with mine, I’ll grab my Locus Helmet when I go on.

> What’s better than playing Halo 4 online? How about playing Halo 4 live in front of thousands of other Halo fans just like you! We’ll be hosting a live Wild Card Tournament at this year’s Rooster Teeth Expo (RTX) in Austin, TX. Planning to attend RTX? Want to compete? Great! First you’ll need a ticket to RTX. Be sure it’s for all 3 days—elimination matches take place during Friday and Saturday with the RTX Semi-Finals and Finals on Sunday.

> If you didn’t register online but still want a chance to compete, show up bright and early on the first day of RTX. We’ll be taking a limited number of walk-up registrations. All matches will be an 8-player free-for-all with the top 4 players qualifying for the RTX Semi-finals. On Sunday, we’ll gather all Semi-Finalists to compete in another round of 8-player free-for-all style matches until only 8 players remain. These 8 players will become finalists and proceed to the main stage to go head-to-head in one last epic match! The top 6 players will walk away as RTX Tournament winners and qualify as finalists to compete in the Finals.

Are you going to the RTX FFA?
I’m all the way in Canada. I would go if I could but I don’t even have my passport so if I am in the Finals I’m still SOL. So I’m in it for the online tournament to finally be able to say: “I’m still awesome.” And feel proud of myself for at least trying. But no… and I mean I have all the preorder DLC so I meant I’ll wear that ingame xD

HI, UKWN. You are correct, registering for the online tournament is different than registering for the RTX tournament.
You can pre-register for the RTX FFA tournament on-site, Friday morning at 9AM in Hall 5 of the Austin Convention Center. We were originally going to have online registration for the RTX tournament as well but switched to in-person registration only and didn’t get the FAQ updated. Apologies for the confusion, and let me know if you have any more questions.
No Quebec people…

Wait, they’re partnering with -Yoink!- gaming again, after all the complaints about how the last competition went? That seems like a really bad idea.

Okay, it’s seemed impossible to get this question answered. So if I do not have a RTX 3 day ticket, or a ticket at all, I can still show up Friday morning at 9am to “possibly” register for the FFA tournament. This means I would be buying a 3 day ticket correct? Or is it possible to only go to play the FFA?

Unfortunately not. You need an RTX pass in order to participate in the RTX FFA tournament, as it’s on-site.
Okay got I got that.
But what is being said is that I can show up Friday morning and possibly get to buy a 3 day pass?
What are my chances of getting one?
I really want to play in this FFA

You’ll have to ask Rooster Teeth that question, as it’s their event and they are in charge of the passes. Good luck, and hope to see you there!

RTX said that they will not be selling passes at the door. They had a few leftover last week but that was it.

I’m probably going to start the pretty-long-drive tomorrow morning and I’ll arrive in Austin in the afternoon. Hopefully I come across you there! I’ll most likely be with Goofy (formerly on team Warriors), if you know who he is.
