soooooo… where is season 2 of spartan ops. you can call it season 1 if there isnt going to be more then one. and what about that spartan ops compitions a year ago where you could win a truck and be in a spartan ops episode? that person never got their episode so whats up? is halo 4 just a money maker? is this what halo has become now? and why hasnt the level cap been raised??? ive been sr 130 since dec. 23 2012
Season 2 in Halo 5 maybe.
Not official info, just what I think
It has already been confirmed that there won’t be a SpOps season 2, long ago.
It has never been announced, that there would be a raise of max. rank.
Frank O’Connor confirmed at last years RTX that there would be no Season 2 of Spartan Ops.
The prize for the Spartan Ops competition wasn’t for a part in a future Spartan Ops episode, it was for a small part in a future Halo game.
343 have never said that the level cap would be raised beyond SR130.

So no OP, it’s not a ripoff. You’re not entitled to new content just because.
It’s called Halo: Escalation, get to your nearest comic store and read.

Which is BS if you ask me. If the story of Escalation was what Season 2 of Spartan Ops would have been, then I am extremely disappointed.
I mean, the return of the Arbiter and the possible alliance with the Brutes, unveiling what happened to the Spirit of Fire… Why do such important and intriguing story elements have to appear in a comic series that 99% of the fans will never read? That’s just ridiculous.

Completely disagree. First off 99% is way too high a number. I think a lot more fans read the comics and books than you think. I don’t know the selling numbers right now, but I bet you’d be surprised.
Second, I believe it was a good decision to transfer effort from Spartan Ops into other avenues. I don’t believe it was popular enough of a game mode to continue. I would rather they use their effort for other areas of the game, the current and future installment. Yes, it is a little disappointing but in no way a rip off, B.S., or ridiculous.

Ok, maybe 99% was an exaggeration, but you can’t tell me that a large majority of the fans will read this stuff, or will even know about it. I know I don’t speak for everybody here, but out of all the people I know, I’m the only one that reads the Halo novels, and the only one who actually knows about this comic.
The way I see it, giving us the fate of the Spirit of Fire through a comic series would be like finishing off Master Chief’s story through a comic series and never making Halo 5, 6, whatever. Halo Wars had a rather good story, and the continuation and end of that story deserves something more than a comic series that many fans will never even hear about.
Some Halo fans never played Halo Wars and have no plans to, so by putting it in a comic it gives those that are (or were) on the fence about playing some help in making a decision. I have no interest in playing Halo wars or Spartan Assault, and although I know this means I’ll be missing a good chunk of Halo history and lore, I still know more because I DO read the books and comics (when I have the money to do so) than someone who just plays all the games and never picks up any of the literature

Oh of course, I agree with you there. But that still does not make up for the fact that a couple million people are going to be left out of the loop regarding the ship and her crew’s fate. If I had not been a member of these forums, I would never have heard of Halo Escalation, therefore would never know that it contains the fate of the Spirit of Fire. I’m sure the same can be said for many more people. At least a game would be well advertised and people would know to buy it if they were interested.
Plus, the ship’s fate will be explained in, what, 2-3 issues of the comic? That’s ridiculously short. After the success of Halo Wars, I believe that the story deserves to be fleshed out in far more than that. A game would allow the story to be given the details it deserves!
Honestly I feel the same way about Ghosts of Onyx… How cool would it have been to play as one of the SIIIs with their SPI armor, MA5Ks, and scavenging (and being able to use) the jackal shield gauntlets? Not to mention going up against the Onyx sentinels… Woulda made an awesome game
Guys, back on topic! I agree that there should be a higher level cap, but I defiently don’t see it in the future.
