Halo 4 Review Veteran Edition

Introduction:

Hi guys i know I’m new here in the forum but i’m a veteran halo player n i just can’t stay quiet after seein halo rise from the shade and slowly creepin back to it with each mistake ever since…sure it’s still big but with realeses like the overpriced dlc ODST n bad choices made in reach as well as h4 (although they’re still good games) the franchise as lost its bright n halo has just become anothr game n not the game u would buy a 360 just to own it cause it was that good…now see this as a constructive critic n since every statement(bad or good) needs its proof here it is:

My thoughts on the matter:

Bak in the day when i first started playn it was all gameplay n story with little concern about visuals n the bosses actually deserved to be feared…nowadays its all fun n easy to make more noob friendly(no offense intended nothin wrong with being a noob)n all the action and challenge of past gamin days has been forgotten its a shame especially when it hits big titles like halo 4 instence…don’t get me wrong the campaign its enjoyable n the multiplayer kicks -Yoink- as expected but besides from a few new weapons, enemies, the mantis n a new vilain some areas of the whole what makes a halo amazing n unforgetable have been left out. [ Let me explain ]

Review veteran’s perspective

Part I Campaign:

Now don’t get me wrong the story itself was very well written and if you ask me it’s one of the best if not the best character driven story ever in a halo game and also the reason i don’t regret buying this game. There’s just something about chief and cortana’s relationship (even if fragmented this time around witch isn’t bad)the return of the covenant and the forerunners finally revealing to be more than amazing arquitects wiped out by space zombies (flood)that make it worth it but not unforgettable…why u ask!? Well theres a lot of things that were left out like:

  • Bringin the scarab tank bak maybe even ading a mission were u steel one and have fun wreakin havik instead of steallin ur usual wraith, u still enjoy it but on familiar grounds cause u probably done it before
  • Water/Underwater based missions like u never seen before in halo…now that would bring new vehicles, new gameplay, new multiplayer map possibilities
  • Explain the reason the covenant return n whats their new goal (but i guess thats for h5)
  • Bigger maps with more replayable missions
  • Space is a fun place to be…i was hopin for the space based 1-7 missions to be more focused outside than indoors but…
  • Next time give us a reason to keep using the Pelican … don’t just make it a vehicle for flyn from point A-B , perhaps had some sid -missions to it
  • The broadsword…one of reachs best missions was long night of solace with a sabre…do the math…don’t fix what isn’t broken
  • Give the prometheans a vehicle or 2
  • Make the Didact a boss worth fightin not this CoD/Battlefield3 press a few buttons the End type of thing

Part II War Games:

Multiplayer has always played a huge role on halo since it was first realeased and it’s been improving ever since although with some set backs here and there along the way. Does this new War games multiplayer deliver!?..my answer is yes but does it live up to the hipe!? well hers what i think should have been improved also:

  • Why try to fix armour lock!? okay hardlight shield is an improvement in every way but its still not necessary besides it makes u a bullet sponge who would want that
  • The mantis…thats it no more new vehicles n what happened to the falcon why take it out when u leave us with the useless mongoose
  • What happened to the fun zero G combat scenario from reach
  • Dmr needs to be like the magnum at least…recoil to make it even
-Were are the teleporters that made halo unique
  • throw in at least one or two big maps for big team
  • Forge Islands are no forge world just mix all your forge maps togheter (except for impact)everyone would be happy i guess
  • I’d say get rid of dominion but instead ressurect invasion n had dominion properties to it
  • Had Crazier weapons don’t just stick with the rifle, pistol, sniper, grenade n launcher combo think outside the box
  • Don´t be afrraid to try out never seen before things thats what makes the game unique again ( space battles unsc vs covenant for example)

Part III Spartan Ops:

The sucessor to the short-time lived firefight that was first introduced in h3 ODST. Well it’s like a mini campaign that continues on the main role (although your playin as a different character) but that also sets up the table for whatever’s next in Halo 5, so how does it fair:

  • Shoot a few enemies, activate some switches and save the day, then wait for the next week
  • Hads up to the story progression of the campaign and it has a satisfying ending in my opinion definetly left me wanting more
  • firefight had the custom options and you could forge your own style of how to approach it thats a plus that Sp Ops doesnt possess but in return u have map progression, objectives to complete other than just surving waive after waive of enemies and also the changeable loadouts you didn´t have before

For me i think they’re both awesome aditions to the halo universe so why not imcorporate both in future games. I bet it’s possible to re-use a sp ops map for firefight purposes and by doin’ so hav gamers on both sides of the table happy

Part IV The Score:

9/10

  • Sick visuals
  • Masterchief’s Back
  • Realistic sound engineering
  • Well written story
  • Invasion playslist
  • Few technicall isses (out of date system)

That’s it folks i think i covered everything if u cared to read this far Down why not let me know what u think in the coments below!? I’d be more than happy to reply

Have a good one

I got it for $29.99 and to answer your question, no it was not worth the money.

Punctuation and spell-check are your your friends. Anyways, it’s worth is dependent on how each individual enjoyed the game. Some may think it was worth it, others wont.

Just wanted to note that before OP edited his post the thread title was called “Halo 4 was it worth your money?”. I just wanted to put that out there in case any mods try to edit me for making a non-constructive post.

Nice name change, but I still would like to talk numbers.
